  • Didn't we all start supporting MLS or German teams at one point? How did that work out?

I was following Hertha Berlin, who got promoted back to Bundesliga 1.

  • List of foreign teams I have been to:

    Barcelona
    Union Berlin
    Boca Juniors
    Belgrano
    Flamengo
    Vasco de Gama
    Rosario Central
Man United (well everyone there was foreign)

List of foreign teams I like:

    Rosario Central
    FC St Pauli

  • You missed Notts County?

  • double post

  • and i admire their ability to play in 42 degrees of heat without airconditioning

  • I think he is being bought as a second Gerrard, he's a pretty similar player. .

shits in a cup, adds bleach, stirs, necks it

Fuck me, you actually are a real life know fuck all Kopite?!

  • List of forrin teams I like/follow/been to or have some vague interest in no particular order:

    FC Twente

Just remember to wear a crash helmet

    if only

  • Pisti, are you saying he isn't?

Free kick specialist, attacking midfielder, likes to play in a free role, good passer, strength, stamina...

I don't know if he partial to a dodgy tackle though.

  • not to forget a bit slow pace-wise

  • I wonder what the going rate for naming a stadium is.

a nice £100million fund from Shiek Mansoors good friends at Ethiad all seems a bit to convenient after losses of £121million last year, and FFP starting imminently.

I also enjoyed Adebayor's little outburst about being told to report for training the day after the first team went on a pre-season tour. Cold as ice.

That deal is dodgy as fuck. There is something in the FFP about the fair market value of commercial deals to offset these kinds of things. But then again it is a FIFA rule so I'm sure there are all kinds of ways out via the brown envelope.

Perfectly legit IMO. It's UEFA not FIFA BTW. Arsenal recently signed a deal with Emirates for about £100m, and we're now a bigger draw than them.

Oh FFS! You do know that they edit MOTD don't you....?

Seriously he's about as shit as Carrick

  • He can't tackle either...

    Comolli and Kenny thing otherwise...

    I trust them above you.

    perfect.

Man city are not a bigger draw than Arsenal. Stadium cap is well off what the Emarites is.

Added to the fact that the length of Arsenals deal was 15 years rather than 10, and as far as I'm aware, Emarites weren't owned by David Dein or Hill-Wood either.

Emarites also entered into a combined shirt and stadium deal. Ethiad already have a deal for the City shirts which will, from what I understand, is completely separate to the stadium deal just announced.

The Arsenal deal was for 15 years back in 2004 (pre-financial meltdown), and Emirates and Arsenal are not owned by the same sovereign family.

There is no comparison in the deals I'm afraid. I stand by my "Dodgy as Fuck" assessment.

  • Beaten to it by Monsieur Winters.

  • The thing that really gets me though, is what are Man City giving back to the city of Manchester, other than dull anti-football? Honestly, build some affordable housing, create new jobs in the well known poor areas around Manchester. This is just greed and pride of the highest order.

Gifted a stadium, that was exploited by some corrupt far eastern business man, only to be sold on to oil rich Mansoor family who go beyond all means to break and bend rules.

Don't say that paying rent for the stadium justifies the way that Manchester City are exploiting everything there. The Mansoor family wouldn't be pumping this sort of money into Manchester if they could get this much coverage back at home.

    2004 = +7 years inflation
Financial meltdown ? Not in Abu Dhabi.

    Dodgy as fuck ? - Arsed ?

  • lets break it down.

Arsenal Shirt and Stadium deal is worth £6.66Million a year.

Man City shirt and Stadium Deal £12.3Million a year.

    inflation has gone up 50%!

Dull anti-football - scored plenty more than Spurs (The Great Entertainers)
Our owners are giving plenty back to Manchester, there is a huge redevelopment all around our stadium, all financed by our owners. This is creating plenty of jobs and will offer execellent facilities for all.
Gifted a stadium - this was agreed in 1999 when we were in the 3rd tier of English football. And if we hadn't moved into it, it'd now be empty.

What pray do tax dodger Levy et al offer the residents of Haringey, other than moaning that they won't buy them a new stadium, or threatening to fuck off to the other side of London.
