  • Clubs like Everton have never had darkk days like Chelsea and it is likely that they would not survive. .

    shakes head

    So why would we implode?

    pulls up chair

  • Not really. Chelsea supporters have been to Wembley many times. Wembley is given over in large part to "neutral" seating; seats which are generally given up for touting. Not all of Chelsea's season ticket holders were able to get seats. Many of those that did were corporate season tickets. Corporates frequently give such tickets to clients no matter who they support or sell them to touts. Only Everton supporters would have felt the need to pay out the prices touts were charging. We will be back. They might not.

It was an adventure for the barbarians. A novel experience for most of them.

  • .Not all of Chelsea's season ticket holders were able to get seats.

But you've only got 24k season ticket holders(same as us), you were given 25k tickets(same as us)

  • But a lot of members, not season ticket holders, are part of the away ticket scheme (particularly those living in the north who cannot easily get to all home games but can waddle around the grim northern parts) and they had priority over most season ticket holders.

'most'. Find that hard to believe. The Chelsea fella in my local(one of about 30 who actually goes to the game) is a ST holder, never goes to away games and managed to get 4 FA cup tickets - himself, his lad and his Grandson n mate
We were only allowed 1 per ST holder

  • Ha! 4 months ago he was after £400m, now he's after a quick sale at £100m

Reminds me of the joke - What's the best way to end up with £1,000,000?

    Start with £2,000,000

  • Off one of our fans forums:

Conversation overheard at Wembley Park tube on Saturday:

…between a group of Chelsea fans after the game.

Fan 1 “Can’t believe how many fans Everton have brought”

Fan 2 “They were all over the place weren’t they?, loads in our end even”

Fan 1 “Out numbered us 60/40 at least”

Fan 3 “Yeah. On our fackin manna too. Norvun fackin mankies”

Which I thought was pretty funny and indicative of my point I've been making

what makes you think everton fans couldn't orate such lucid prose?
football attracts a very high proportion of imbeciles. far higher than any other sports. the way it's tribalism manifests itself is pathetic and moronic.
it's an interesting sport to watch mostly ruined by it's fans.

  • Smithy missing the point again.....

This'll be my last post about the Chelsea, Everton big club bollocks as my brain is hurting but the quoted conversation was enlightening and an eye opener to see that there were far more fans prepared to travel 200 miles than 7 miles.

  • i know the point. i couldn't care who went, all i know is that the crowd is not going to be made up of a 50/50 split mainly because it is an FA cup and a large proportion of the tickets are never going to be made directly available to the fans of the 2 clubs through their membership schemes.

i was just using your quote to make another point.

  • Oh why don't you just point off!

  • this thread is mostly just pistanator reading the riot act. maybe there should be another football thread where people are actually allowed their own opinions?

    insincere winking smiley face

  • Fuck off you ginger streak off piss!

inserts evil horny headed devil emoticon

  • you can do better than that Graham, come on!

  • A thread for all the glory hunters and plastics* to wank each other off silly

    *Clive excluded

  • This season I have mostly been annoyed by twattish fans from underachieving/developed clubs crying that the top 4 a lieind, diving, cheating cunts. I wish they'd just accept that we are considerably better and richer than them.

  • This'll be my last post about the Chelsea

    :o))

  • ;-)

You're a good guy Clive, thick n thin, rain and snow - a proper Chelsea fan! :-)

  • i suppose that's what happens when you let tribal instincts cloud an objective viewpoint.
    :-)

  • I can't believe there's be no mention of Ancelotti's appointment on this thread today.

This, I deduce, adds credence to Graham's belief that Chelsea are not a big club and only have plastics as fans. ;p

  • ....I remember a few weeks ago chatting to one of the Chelsea whoppers in my local asking if he's had any joy with getting a ticket:

"No I didn't fancy it, I gave my ticket to my mate. I'm a season ticket holder though!"

Bollocks mate, I've seen you in there nearly every weekend for the last 3 years when Chelsea have been on Sky at Stamford Bridge(which is atleast twice a month) sat there supping your Fosters in a Chelsea top. Love it when Chelsea 'fans' try and justify being a proper fan "Supported em all my life, been goin for years"

  • Ancellotti has been brought in for the sole purpose to win the CL, failure and he'll be off

  • And if he pops off at the end of the season Gus will come back (fresh from winning the World Cup) and take us to even greater glory.

It's win/win for us but I am not going to make the mistake of believing Ancellotti to be the answer to prayers until he has proved himself. We all had hopes for the useless Scholari, after all...

  • To his advantage, Ancelotti has current experience of both club management and the CL, both of which Scolari lacked.

His English isn't as good as Scolari's by all accounts though.

  • His trump card could be in persuading Kaka to join. If so, we're all fucked! :-(

  • when Clive so graciously let me sit next to him at a home game i was struck by how much the demographic had changed in the 10 years since i had last been to a football game. a real mix of people of all ages, class groups, ethnicity and a large proportion of the fairer sex.
these people may not have the club tattooed on their sleeve but they want to watch 'their' team play, is that such a bad thing? or in early life are you supposed to have taken a beating from the rest of the school for supporting the 'other' team and been chased by home fans running down the cobbled backsteets as a callow youth before you can truly call yourself a fan?
