That list is somewhat flawed anyway, how can QPR be at 2nd and 5th with 2 different owners and Cheltenham 12th??!

Exactly the case with Everton. That 1.2bn is split amongst the whole Moores family, and only a (relatively) small amount of it is in the hands of Grantchester (who is the only one who has any link to the club these days). He has always said he is not interested in investing in a football club. Same shit different year, he hasn't got direct access to "Running a Premier League Club" type money, even if he had the desire to.

Oh this is fun. Two and a half months of no football but we can enjoy the banter all the while.

I think we should set a date for the football ride as soon as possible.

If a real club means some form of grubby institution from the barbarian regions, with wonky stands, poisonous pies and surrounded by a scene from a post nuclear horror movie; the answer is plainly no.

If you mean a football team with a loyal group of supporters who have followed the side in bad days and in good with passion and feeling, then yes.

Clubs like Everton have never had darkk days like Chelsea and it is likely that they would not survive. Even Newcastle has been through it and their supporters are certainly in the barbarian category.
