  • Chelsea have a problem staying on their feet for big players. Gerrard dives (not badly) but it stands out cause of his "god" like great status amoungts so many.

Drogba can't stay on his feet for 5 minutes, play acts and constantly moans.. fucking disgrace.

If i was CB against that prick i'd be damn sure he wouldn't get up

  • Everton will never surplant Arsenal....

Just how many years did it take for you to beat us again Clive???

  • Everton will never surplant Arsenal....

    What, you mean again?

  • everton remind me of chelsea around the mathew harding/hoddle era but without the attractive footbal. promising but lacking investment the funny thing is the owners are right up there in the rich list but seem hesitent in spending any money. maybe they don't trust the manager? or their other businesses are suddenly not doing so well?

  • Everton's owners in the rich list ? When was this ?

Not being funny but that's a very ignorant post. Can you please tell me about Kenwright and our money(or lack of it) and the lack of trust(although he's been there 7yrs) they have in Moyes, I'm all ears....

  • Everton's owners in the rich list ? When was this ?

Oh here we go, first sniff of a 'money/investment' debate and all the Citeh fans come out.....
You'll be lucky to finish in the top 8 next season

  • how is it ignorant when the owners of everton are worth so much more money than liverpool?

*1 Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan (Man City) £15billion
2 Lakshmi Mittal and family (QPR) £12.5bn
    3 Roman Abramovich (Chelsea) £7bn
    4 Joe Lewis (Tottenham) £2.5bn
5 Bernie and Slavica Ecclestone (QPR) £2.4bn
    6 Stanley Kroenke (Arsenal) £2.245bn
    7 Alisher Usmanov (Arsenal) £1.5bn
8= Lord Grantchester & the Moores Family (Everton) £1.2bn
    8= Dermot Desmond (Celtic) £1.2bn
    10= Lord Ashcroft (Watford) £1.1bn
10= Malcolm Glazer and family (Man Utd) £1.1bn
    12 Simon Keswick (Cheltenham) £966m
    13 Trevor Hemmings (Preston) £900m
    14 Mike Ashley (Newcastle) £800m
15 Randy Lerner (Aston Villa) £750m
    16 Tom Hicks (Liverpool) £700m
17 The Walker Family (Blackburn) £660m
    18 Mohammed Al Fayed (Fulham) £650m *

Not at all, just that Kenwright makes out EFC don't have a pot to piss in.

  • They don't invest money though. Kenwright's the CE, he's worth a paltry £40m on paper and is waiting to hear the outcome of the Kirkby ground move proposal so he can sell as a more attractive investment to potential buyers. He's a snide and doesn't wanna spend a penny, hence poncing off Robert Earl and Phil Green for the last 3 seasons for the purchases of Johnson, Yakubu and Fellaini

  • Shit, with £2.5bn Spurs should be much better than the mediocore team we are. Oh well, if we were any good then we wouldn't have anything to winge about, and who would want that.

That list is somewhat flawed anyway, how can QPR be at 2nd and 5th with 2 different owners and Cheltenham 12th??!

  • Just because the owners have that much money dosent meen they are able (or want) to invest it into the club.

  • Exactly the case with Everton. That 1.2bn is split amongst the whole Moores family, and only a (relatively) small amount of it is in the hands of Grantchester (who is the only one who has any link to the club these days). He has always said he is not interested in investing in a football club. Same shit different year, he hasn't got direct access to "Running a Premier League Club" type money, even if he had the desire to.

  • Oh this is fun. Two and a half months of no football but we can enjoy the banter all the while.

I think we should set a date for the football ride as soon as possible.

  • ...oh and I foget to say, ManU/Everton/Liverpool/Arsenal/Citeh/everyone else bar Chelsea are cheating scum and without class.

  • Chelsea have absolutely NO class whatsoever, come on....they're a 'Pop Idol' club, an 'X Factor' club. Manufactured plaything for some rich cunt

  • I bet Mike Ashley's experience has put a few people off and all.

  • I love it when you talk dirty and the irony of a scouser lecturing about class is not lost on me ;o)

  • Ha! ;-)

Chelsea aren't a real club though, face it

  • I bet Mike Ashley's experience has put a few people off and all.

Ha! 4 months ago he was after £400m, now he's after a quick sale at £100m

  • Just because the owners have that much money dosent meen they are able (or want) to invest it into the club.

    no shit!
i just thought pistinator may have had a theory as to why everton are so near to being a big club but the owners are not willing to take them further.

  • FFS! They're not the owners!!

  • Chelsea aren't a real club though, face it

If a real club means some form of grubby institution from the barbarian regions, with wonky stands, poisonous pies and surrounded by a scene from a post nuclear horror movie; the answer is plainly no.

If you mean a football team with a loyal group of supporters who have followed the side in bad days and in good with passion and feeling, then yes.

Clubs like Everton have never had darkk days like Chelsea and it is likely that they would not survive. Even Newcastle has been through it and their supporters are certainly in the barbarian category.

  • Off one of our fans forums:

Conversation overheard at Wembley Park tube on Saturday:

…between a group of Chelsea fans after the game.

Fan 1 “Can’t believe how many fans Everton have brought”

Fan 2 “They were all over the place weren’t they?, loads in our end even”

Fan 1 “Out numbered us 60/40 at least”

Fan 3 “Yeah. On our fackin manna too. Norvun fackin mankies”

Which I thought was pretty funny and indicative of my point I've been making
