court case in the eu today ruled provisionally, that pubs should be allowed to use foreign decoders to show premiership games
bad luck sky
welcome 3pm saturday gamesi've only got that idiot prancing james on ignore
the rest of you are bearable... just ;-]Was talking to Steve at the Coach & Horses about this at the weekend, he's organising this straight away and happy to have a few discerning soccer fans in the upstairs bar for this kind of thing... He wants to avoid a bunch of Pistis coming in and tearing the gaff up, y'see... Anyone interested? I can see Jonny and clintsmoker raising their hands at the back, Corny? Damo? Anyone else?

Where is Coach and Horses? I might be up for this - too many games missed because of Sky's shitting scheduling.

• #27992
Blame the FA, not Sky.

• #27993
dont care who is to blame as long as there is a direction for me to point my finger in.

It's the Souths pub... Will have to speak to Steve over the weekend but he was discretely canvassing opinion the other week...
-
• #27995
One reason for the objection to live games at 3 pm on a Saturday is that they might reduce crowds at live games; not live games shown on television - most premier league games are sold out - but second, third and fourth tier games. Rather than sit in a bar all afternoon, why not pop to Palace or Millwall?

I understand what you're saying here - however, you couldn't PAY ME enough money to give up my saturday to go see Milwall.. Or Palace. I used to go see QPR play regularly, but even that's not cheap, might as well just go see half as many premiership games.

There are better ways to spend £30 than watch Millwall play. I'd rather drink bleach than give money to that scummy club.

I think this ruling will be the end of the 3pm blackout anyway.
Once pubs can legally show it Sky will want to get in on the action, and I expect they will win.
When I've been in other countries, such as Germany, it's so civilised to be able to watch all the games on TV on a Saturday afternoon.
