we did well with VDV, but I'm starting to worry that there isn't anyone looking long term about the squad and building for the future at the Lane, the scattergun approach to this window doesn't fill me with confidence..

No, I'm not ignoring any of the above. Just the people who have an unhealthy obsession with Liverpool. Except Graham as he is mildly amusing -

there were pubs in stratford a year or so back but they stopped
some case involving a portsmouth landlady lead to a fine put the wind up the pubs -

list of players we tried and failed to bring in during this transfer window...
If we can wedge our way back into fourth this season, losing out might be a blessing in disguise as we'll be able to get players cheaper in the summer. But I'm not holding my breath about us getting fourth...
That's one hell of a list. Like you said, scatter gun approach, all sorts of positions, ages and nationalities, typical 'Arry Redknapp school of football management approach they showed there. It was never any different at Portsmouth was it?

there's a pub in cricklewood that has th Italian Sky Calcio and shows 3pm saturday games..
a bloke who did my mates satellite told me he could put me on his cardsharing list for something like £25 a month, that would get me basically everything, every sports channel,, sky, movies channels, the lot. the way it works is, you hook up your satellite box to your router, and it changes the encryption codes automatically. the codes change every few seconds so you do need constant internet access for this.
i dont think this is very legal, and i'm sure it's only a matter of time before they find a way to block it/close it down, but it does work and has worked for the past few months.
another way to get footy on the cheap, this time legal, is just to get a foreign subscription. the best value one is probably the Al Jazeera sports card - after you get your satellite installed you can get the card for about 100 quid- it lasts 12 months and you get 10 or so channels, showing la liga, serie A, fa cup/champs league/etc. no premier league though! overexcitied arabic commentator comes free.

My local pub has been showing the Saturday games for a long time. They are not the sort of people to care about the legal aspect of things.
I think it is an Eastern European channel, possibly Albanian or Hungarian. It's not a language I am that familiar with so it's hard to tell -

Twing ? It's Albanian.

Tring's Albanian. NOVA is the Greek one.

One of the reason that I can enjoy even the most outrageous stuff posted on this thread is that I know just about all of you (not Jaw but he posts sense) primarily from the football stadium rides. Now I know Mike from Herne Hill and other tracks but I do feel that it would be very useful if he would now commit to joining in this summer's football stadium ride in order to meet the rest of you. You would see that, despite his peculiar take on life and football, in real life he only only marginally bonkers.

i love their " lets bid for anyone mentality " though
i suspect a lot of tottenhams buys are with an eye to making a profit from
buy young and cheap sell older and more expensive
