Having attended whisky tastings and discussed the finer points of high altitude Japanese whisky production with Aroogah, I feel entirely comfortable with accusing him of 'breathtaking snobbery', as I know he will take it with the good humour with which it was meant.

If on the other hand you just want to point out the fact that I sometimes talk shit then well done for pointing out the obvious...

Sipping a glass of highland park 12, I haven't drunk this in months, I forgot how nice it is. So peaty but so so smooth. Also, I had a measure of this the other day, it was absolutely incredible, right up my street, very very peaty.

Definitely worth a try, it's not like anything I've tried before. I lack the whisky vocabulary to describe it really.

Ordered an Ardbeg supernova last night, didn't realise it was £14 a measure until time to pay. That hurt but it was tasty and strong, maybe not £14 tasty or strong but nice all the same.

Red stag cherry bourbon by jim beam, although horrified, will try it, if only to confirm my prejudices..

Could be OK. Most bourbons cocktails have a cherry garnish (Manhattan, Bourbon and Coke) so it's certainly in the flavour range. I'd be interested in your take on that.
