Went to a whisky tasting last night at Cadenhead's Whisky Shop and had:

Auchentosan
Benriach
Tobermoray
Clynelish
Springbank
Bowmore

Would recommend Springbank and Clynelish (think they were both 15 year, but so many variations).

Not a bad evening for £28.

Bite me. I can cut off 3 fingers on one hand and count the number of blends I would drink, and I could cut off the rest and count the number of blends I would drink over a decent single malt. I don't like blends and Chivas in particular is nasty stuff. If I'm going to drink scotch I'm going to drink something that wasn't distilled using technology from the oil refining industry.

A Cohiba Maduro 5 'Genios', which will be expertly paired with a Brugal Dominican Rum.
The last one was good, but bloody freezing. It sure March will be any warmer.

I've been drinking a fair bit of Woodford Reserve recently, they stock it at the bar I work in. I usually prefer a nice peaty scotch but Woodford is so drinkable, really nice and smooth. I may even have had one too many last night!

Having attended whisky tastings and discussed the finer points of high altitude Japanese whisky production with Aroogah, I feel entirely comfortable with accusing him of 'breathtaking snobbery', as I know he will take it with the good humour with which it was meant.

If on the other hand you just want to point out the fact that I sometimes talk shit then well done for pointing out the obvious...
