What's the best bang for buck tasting set out there at the moment? I want to try some new stuff to buy a bottle for my decanter refill.

I've been using Woodford Reserve for a few things over the holidays. Quite like it.

Hippy - perhaps best if you get a guided tour. I'm sure that myself, Clever Pun, BRM, Blue Quinn, and a few other forumengers could easily help you out with a wee session at the SWC.

We could even drag Jaw along too.

I'm not supposed to be drinking so I was going to get a taster set I could try one after each training ride. But your idea sounds way more fun..

Cycled through Old Meldrum, this evening. Home of Glen Garioch, which is quite a nice dram.

At the moment, it's hard for me to pick a route that would not take me past a distillery. You could do an amazing whisky ride up here (not least because the rolling hills give a fixed rider a workout without being total knee-killers).

Sipping a 21yo Glenfarclas. A tiny drop of water improves it, but while it's very drinkable, there's not enough going on behind the sherry. It's like sucking a whisky-flavoured boiled sweet.
