  • Mah! I am too, no-ooow snow-owww...

Chamonix in Feb and La Plagne in Mar baby!

  • I'm heading to Chamonix in feb too!
Got 3 new boards to test out this season and 2 pair of bindings!

  • Ah it's looking sick this year
Saturday to Avoriaz for 2 weeks
    Feb Chamonix
    Easter Chamonix then Trysil
July Whistler for Camp of Champions

  • Are you sponsored!?! I want boards!
When you going? I'm there 8/9/10/11 Feb!

  • I wish, I guess I'm part sponsored, I get shit really cheap from a shop when it's out of season and then a 25% discount on everything else, also helps that the shop sells bike stuff.
I think I am overlapping then, feb half term.
What board and bindings you riding?

  • A very old Artec, sp bindings.
    nnneeeeeed new board!

  • I've never heard of em lol
    I'm riding
Union force with Forum Rat and Rome Artifact rocker and Burton mission with Rome cheaptrikck.
What kind of riding do you do?

  • Cool Union bindings don't exist for girls with small feet.
    Want...
Do not want --> white + gold + diamonds

Learning to park, badly...scardy cat... :)

  • You might be able to get the small union force, If you don't want to shell out for a park board I have a very used Rome Cheaptrick 151, it's a great board and I am not using it this year so you can ride it if you want.

  • Link me the small union force?
Aw thanks. I think I'm ok for the time being, but might take you up on it in Feb!
    But thanks!!

  • Ah shit can't find anywhere that does them in small but I know they make them.
I'll ask next time I go into the shop.
I can't like right now but if you put this number 270775630770 into eBay it'll bring up to some small union bindings for only 90 quid new, those are supposed to ride pretty similar to the force but lighter.

  • I'm after some thermals for my legs.

    Any thoughts on these:

    ?

  • I haven't tried em but Icebreaker are meant to be really good.
There's a merino thread somewhere if you would like other options...

  • Anything from icebreaker is going to be good quality. Reasonable price for merino. Be wary you can just get cheap £10 pairs from M&S that are fine. Leggings that is.

  • I think I paid around 10 quid from decathalon for mine. Used them in -30c no problem

  • I don't wear thermals>>>>>Hardcore.

  • Primark selling thermals at £5 a pair. Lovely quality too - surprisingly.

  • Is there a reason shops don't seem to sell snowboarding gloves with thick wrist support straps?

I used to have a pair aaaagggges ago that I borrowed. They weren't hard plastic, just thick straps that doubled around and gave you some added support. Have they gone out of style or become obsolete?

All I can find are ones with the thin little straps to keep your gloves on. Also a lot of them don't look very tough.

  • Level gloves are ok, but I tore through them in a season. Mind, I guess most people in the UK won't be doing a full season.

I've got supports now and a pair of Hestra full leather gloves instead

  • I have had a pair of those level gloves for about 5/6 years... They are starting to tear on the palm now... That is just a week or two a year though.

    I like them.

  • Cheers.

I dream of the day when I can do two weeks a year. Let alone more.

TBH I was quite supprised by the lack of real choice. I went to snow and rock in covt garden and Ellis Bringham(?). Lots of gloves but all pretty much of a muchness in design and none that fit the bill

  • So these are what I have now

    http://hestragloves.com/en/gloves/alpine-pro/xcr-glove/

They also do a mitt version

    http://hestragloves.com/en/gloves/alpine-pro/xcr-mitt/

I took the gloves because I ski as well, and honestly, I hate mitts

  • They even do a leather & merino wool glove (for the rapha yuppies)

  • Check out candy grind. US made - absolutely bombproof compared to anything else out there. Only one supplier in the UK at Cas Vegas http://www.littlemountaintrading.co.uk/category/363/Gloves and eBay
