Really, do you need to :(
My family has always snowboarded even since my little brother was 4.My 6 year old wants to start snow boarding. He can already cross country, and alpine ski. Might pick up a cheap'n'nasty kids snowboard package for him. There's a small but decent resort less 3/4 hours drive from our house. Now that my 3 year old is getting into skiing we'll probably be there all the time over winter.
I had planned on getting a touring package I could also use on the resorts. Probably where the smart money would go.
Ended up with a heavy powder package. That doubt I could walk for more than an hour with. Darn my powder addiction. Gonna be fun though.

Right- chemical foot/toe warmers, I'm going to give these a go this winter as it would seem that I simply cannot insulate my feet enough to avoid Toes Of Death.
Is this as straightforward as going into Snow and Rock and saying "30 of these please", or is this seemingly simple acquisition fraught with complications?
Basically, tell me which ones I should get, ta.

Hey Dammit, I tried a few different ones a couple of seasons back but I found them uncomfortable and that they were restricting my performance doe to this.
I just bought some warmer socks and I've been fine riding down to -25c. -
• #439
Toes of death when boarding or riding?
-
• #440
Ah, yeah, should have qualified that- riding.
Lost all circulation in my toes today, when it was practically balmy and I had thick merino socks, MTB shoes and oversocks.
-
• #441
Damn Dammit so you want to wear toe warmers inside already tight cycling shoes.
-
• #442
My winter cycling shoes are quite loose- deliberately so in order to promote blood circulation.
I've got everything else sorted out over the last three years- everything apart from Corpse Foot.
-
• #443
Ah well then I'd try and get some of these if you're desperate for warmers.

How much space do they take up in a shoe?

I thought the reason you lose heat from extremities is your body is trying to conserve heat to the major vital organs. (I dunno, might not be right here!)
So you got ur head and chest warm enough? -
• #446
They're about 2-4 of mil thick about 3 inches wide and a bit longer than that.

So you got ur head and chest warm enough?I've heard that also, but today I was toasty- I think I just have crap feet.
Anyway, I've just bought 10 of these, hopefully they work:
