Anyone heard of Racer trucks? Good, bad?
-
• #703
Never heard of them. Not Pacer?
-

Nah definitiely Racer. They have old school drilling and I think the wheels on the rear trucks are open bearing so probably pretty ancient. Quality looks alright though.

Wheels weren't open bearing, just the sealed bearings were really goosed!
Anyway, that's one of the pair of skateboards I bought, the other has Indy trucks, one Santa Cruz cell block riser and one Roach Pod riser.
The deck itself has lost all it's graphics on the underside and the topside was just plain blue under the griptape but I did find a serial number (912J1) under one of the trucks. Google doesn't seem to know what this means.
Deck is roughly this shape
and was sold as possibly being vintage Santa Cruz. It's got 6 holes at the front to give two options of where to mount the truck (though this could have been done by an owner I guess).
I was going to fill some minor cracks with superglue, tidy up the edges and maybe repaint it etc but I'd hate to do so then find out I've screwed up some ultra rare vintage deck or something.

I'm riding a 8,25'' now, changed from an 8''.
I've rode an 8.25 with 149s before, and they fit perfectly, but if you don't plan on going up a size any time soon then I wouldn't bother, as 139s work just as well.

Yeah, the 139's work well with a 8,25", but i'd rather try with the 149's, much better.
Plus with 149s you can ride an 8.5. So so so much better.

anyone with a penchant for bowls needs to get down to the new one at baysixty6.
i went last week and the thing is amazing.
so so fast, so many lines, so much fun.
i blew out both my knees, nearly broke my wrist and am covered in grazes and bruises from an epic 3 and a half hour skate.
the rest of the park is pretty mint but that bowl....

This is a brilliant little video which is the same cruising a city, but a bit more filmic. Done by ex blueprint rider Colin Kennedy. Quik
