The tennis nets in the MUGAs (second image down on the right column) look movable...?
There are football goals there but they arent too intrusive.

The handball area (third on the right column) looks like it could be usable for polo too. Three courts in total with lights... not bad at all. I smell a tourney.

  • The courts are expensive (I believe), but it may be worth asking about ongoing bike polo use whilst we're there.

(I think the tennis court MUGAs are the courts for the free sessions, but not 100% on this.)

  • I'm up for coming down and helping out. have a few old mallets kicking about and I have a up to date advanced CRB. [I know when we did the taster sessions a few years ago we needed two at each session]

  • The West London Unicyclists (LUNIs) used to play there, one of the two Unicycle Hockey clubs in London. They now play indoors at the Finsbury Leisure Centre.

  • Those unicycle hockey lads showed up at the Open on the last day, some of the lower teams played them in the Cage at Downs. Good buzz. Hope they come along to polo.

  • Slightly bonkers IMHO, but maybe people say that about our sport too.

  • wow the indoor tennis courts look AMAZING, if only we could clean the floor and not damage it

  • Can one of the graphics designers on here please do up a poster for the upcoming sessions at the Westway and send it to me as a PDF? I'll print ~20 or so of them in A3 at work and cycle around West London bike shops, giving them out on the weekend of March 3rd, I'm away this weekend.

  • Anyone?

  • Pm Wayne... He's original westie and also awesome.

  • Hang on! I'm just sorting this for you Kevin, Bikeminded have produced a poster that you can use (if you want)... it's pretty decent, I'm just sourcing it for you (and can print some for you too if needed).

  • Oh ok Jono, sorry I thought someone had said at the meeting they'd do one up (and Joe could PDF it for us :-) . Maybe I am mixing that up with someone else.
Just send it on to me and I'll print it up in work, it'll be less hassle than collecting off you. I think you have my email.

  • Balls, just worked out I am away the week of the first one, will definitely come the week(s) after though

  • Cool, I've asked for their revised one and will send it on when I have it, nice one.

I think Joe was meant to be "PDFing" the Hell's Belles pack, could be wrong though.

  • I don't know what's happening tbh...

When's this starting? I go to press on my mag tomorrow (some PDF-ing but mostly just sitting around twiddling my thumbs, which'll make a nice change... 4 realz...), I'll be down the road in Kensington with all my polo gear...

  • first session isnt until march 14th.

  • I'm guessing its to be encouraged to post this about to people who might be interested?

  • Absolutely, take the posters/flyers and do what you will with them... Facebook walls, local bike shops, "the works" would be awesome.

  • Before these go get printed and plastered, maybe stress fortnightly?

  • The sessions are every week?

  • Wow, apparently I dont read too good. Ignore all that. Woo consecutive wednesdays

  • Here you go Kev:

Nice one Jono. I'll do up some in work, and put together a list of potential places before I bring them west.
Suggestions from anyone here to put them up welcome - cafes, shops, etc. I dont really know that part of town at all, so this is a nice little exploration ride for me.

  • ill start distributing some if i can find a printer

  • John, do you need any help with anything in the run up to this? Even if it's just to turn up a little earlier to be a friendly face?
