• Giorgetto Giugiaro did some mad shit.

    I'd love a tuned mk1 Scirocco.

  • or an S2 Esprit.

  • He pretty much wrote the fukin book.

  • why do the dudes that bomb the hot hatches put tyres on that are blatantly not wide enough for the massive rims? that looks stupid and annoys the fuck out of me.

  • How did you get on? I hope you have a garage to work in!

I had to postpone until the weekend.I do have a garage, but no power or water.

Fancy racing your old car against mine Richie?

When the V8 goes in, deffo.

  • also - bertone/gandini - the masters.

  • The greatest car of all time. FACT.

  • I can't favour this or that. Both Epic.

  • I can get into one of them^, but can't shut the door.

there was an awesome countach concept at the festival of speed last year (orange, i think - 1300 miles!) that was beautiful. they got uglier and uglier, imo.

  • Better use for assembly robots.

  • so nice, but why go to all the effort and leave the ugly ass air intake and MAF????

i've never understood, definite euro thing, sometimes look ok, but i prefer bigger rims, than the small but stupidly wide.

  • Not forgetting his influence at De Tomaso...

The Pantera was designed at Ghia by Tom Tjaarda. He also did the Deauville, which was a total rip-off of the Jaguar XJ6, and the Mk1 Ford Fiesta

  • I said influence. wriggles out

God damn Yanks. Wrecking European design vision.

Saying that I suppose Harley Earl wasn't bad.

I don't mind the muscle car era...just not as tight.

  • Nice Lancia Fulvia on the Milano-fixed flickr stream. With an Autobianchi behind.

  • Interesting dents on the fulvia

  • I may very soon be rolling a new set of wheels!!

Shit mate. I came on here specifically to ask if anyone has any thoughts on a 944 S2 as I am seriously considering purchasing one in the New Year and this is the first pic I see on this thread. Uncanny!!
Anyone got any thoughts on these cars?

  • Need to get some decent photos of the LSE sorted to post soon, but anyway drove her down to Spain with Sins, Gotti and Samson for a week, got back on Sat late.

After a 621quid bill pre-trip for new Alt (reconditioned one was shocking), new coil (it had a ballast pout in by some fecking idiot), can belt and fuel pipes (rotten ALL THE WAY through, I mean gaping massive rot holes through them) I left for Spain the next day with an air of trepidation.

As it was she was great all the way down, all the time there even using the low-range lots as it was insanely hill. It was just the trip back that any probs occurred. About 100K south of Paris the exhaust split in half. My manifold it straight to a cherry bomb half way back (no cats), then straight back to back box.

The exhaust had failed on the weld at the front to the cherry bomb. So basically we drove all the way back to London running a race-rodded, race-cammed, race-induction and filtered Rover 4.2V8 lump with a straight through exhaust!!!

Try and imagine the sound. Everyone was looking on the motorway, motorcyclists litterally shat themselves as we over took. Traffic jam through Paris was interesting and uncomfortably load for anyone near us. The ferry was the funniest tho!

I'll try and get hold of a camera to video the noise, will post if I manage.

  • i am up for that. might not be the quickest lap ever...

    - Mini VTEC @ Nürburgring[/ame]

PS Not the greatest quality vid ever at the start, but it does get better.

They are freaking excellent! Well, my opinion anyway. Mate of mine had a 944 S2 turbo and it went, well, scary fast. It did handle beautifully too. Had it out on the track a few times were it excels although was twitchy in high speed long corners. Might have just been his stiff set up. As an every day car it was also very easy to drive and maintain. The only thing that broke was er.... well the turbo spat some innards into the engine many $$$$$$ (AUD) but the car had been well used.

I mostly like the fact that they are so under appreciated.
