I will have you know that this one was disguised to look like the calibre model without the uprated suspension, rims and big bore exhaust... the ones that tickford tweaked. But in my ownership it did end up with a calibre interior.
The look was unique and of the era...is a nicer way of saying it.

in the last 4 weeks, i have read 5 separate stories of Mk7 Golf R's being stolen/carjacked, with a few stories involving VW service centers finding magnetic GPS tracking type devices stuck in wheelarches of cars that are in for servicing . Considering there aren't many of these on the roads, that amount seems worryingly high.
I am getting slightly concerned as my July delivery draws closer. Am I just being a whuss?

Also make sure keys are under pillow and home is secure... I nearly lost my Audi last year. Took laptop and the wifes handbag instead. :-(

Today I am going to hoon the Porsche up the motorway to Sheffield for a mate's wedding.
Tomorrow, I'm going to come home via the Snake Pass, Cat & Fiddle, and lots of lovely A and B roads. That should be nice.

Anyone have any recent (last few years) of importing a car from the US?
Nothing fancy, just an early volvo 242 or 145, in the hunt for a rot free rolling shell, better if it can drive itself to the dock on the other side but not a big issue. They are rare over here that aren't rotten, cost of rot removal = 5x more than its worth.
Looking for approx costs and level of faff

Where am I going to find my dream Mercedes 190E? I'm looking at Ebay, Auto Trader and Gumtree, where else would be worth a look? Any forums with decent classifieds?

I found a 190 specific forum with a few on it. Forums definitely seem to be the way to go, one that I'd seen on Ebay for £2000 BIN was being sold for £900 by the same guy on a forum.
Cheers for those links.

I'd never heard of that. Much obliged.
Same in sweden, diesel cars are about 1.75x the tax than a petrol. If your friend drives as much as you say, shouldn't the fuel savings make up the extra tax? It does here if you drive enough
