It's nice that you found your bread joke humourous, but you're completely missing the point.
I don't have a problem with cars...and i have no problem with car lovers also being into cycling...my problem is with the fact that a thread about cars on a bike forum can stay completely on topic and thus seems to have more respect than threads on actual cycling which many people seem more than happy to fuck up and give nothing but stupid answers to right from the start.
It's that that i find disappointing.Ok, fair point alright... The only thing is that this is probably true about any one of the Misc. & Mean. threads as they're something fresh...I know it sounds bad to put it that way but that's all these threads are, a distraction, rather than creating distractions we have them ready made...It's just going to happen, not worth worrying about...I mean at the end of the day it is just an internet forum you know?

So i must really be the only person who feels that when a thread about cars on a bike forum gets more respect than threads about bikes it's pretty fucked up?
And personally i've never had a love affair with any car as i've been a cyclist all my life...which is unsurprisingly why i joined this 'bike' forum.Amen brother.

scott that is the british love affair with the motor car.
it's the same on all bike forums. what makes me laugh is the fact that people start to enthuse about caning it round roundabouts and beating some other car but wish to share the road with responsible car drivers when they are riding their bikes. -

Having been on here for a long time i'm fully aware of what it is....but i'm even more aware of what it WAS.
It's just such a shame that the bike threads don't seem to get the same respect they once had. -

fixed wheel cycling is a "a strong alternative subculture" and "I love my car"..... that's anarchy right there.

It's like a game of top trumps in here.
I'm with NhattAttack! I feel ill looking at this thread but somehow I can't stop, I'm looking for that glimmer of hope. Pifko posted the Honda hydrogen powered car up there.^ That is the glimmer of hope, I guess.

It really says a lot about this place that not a single bike related thread can ever stay on topic anymore or even get sensible answers half the time, and yet a thread about cars can manage to stay completely on topic.
Why are you posting in it?
Wouldn't your time be better served 1) elsewhere or 2) keeping the bike threads on-topic?

In a straight line - not on the circuit it didn't...
it did with Stig in it, didn't it? it was the same time as 911 GT3

It's that that i find disappointing.stop whining. this thread is only popular because it's a change, it's a bit different, that's all.

With all due respect Nimhbus...Fuck you.
The original element of this forum has become so unimportant now that people basically just make a mockery of every bike related thread on here now.
But show them a thread about something that people on here have been slagging off since day one in some way or another and you can't wait to jump on its dick.
If the rest of the forum has become so much of a joke now that cars get more respect than bikes you're welcome to it.
It's interesting to see that the majority of posts on this thread are all from newcomers to the forum...that to me says a lot really.
I'm done.
