I'm not counting this year as I started with one or two bikes, have four on the road now.

What Capri you got? One of my mate's has got a mk3 2.0 and another has a matt black mk2 3.0, they are both gorgeous.
Oh no, don't start talking about Capris, i've finally fooled myself into thinking I don't need a car, you're not helping.
T'was the first car I ever drove, i'm very proud of that fact.

Random Fact: I know the bloke who designed the Capri, friend of my mums.

Fine. I'll buy the £200 one :P
You city types drive a hard bargain. When you coming to collect it anyway? I've got something special to wear; off the shoulder, tight, slutty, just like you asked for.

also I like to ponder how much have I been paid this year to read thru this fourm - thinking about 10% of my salary
-
• #132
Less than I used to spend on horses, before I got this bicycle habit.
-

Restrained this year. Probably in the region £3-400. Would have been more had New York been better in stock of Chris King headsets and Phil single-fixed rear hubs.
Most recently, this:
Cannot wait to go home. This bastard is brighter than the sun! (and only $40).

Yes, I have found horse steak prices to be on the up, although I find it too rich to eat very often, so it is not usually a problem

This thread has both made me feel better about the apparently tiny amount I spend (less than £400) and made me resolve to spend more next year... I now unstand why everyone else has nicer bikes than me!
oh and my feck is 0.2...
But I prefer Cunt (Costs under 'nother transport, bike cost/cost if using other choice) aprox 0.125

you lot claiming your wives/girlfriends/partners/whatever don't know how much you spend... this baffles me. Do you have joint bank accounts or something? Do people still do that?
-
• #137
Depemds on the other half, but mine has a fairly shrewd idea of how much bike parts cost.
Tricky to wander in with a new pair of Phil hubs and then say "oh, these? £5 from a bloke off the forum"...
-
• #138
Wow, I brought a new inner tube of ebay for £3.
-
• #139
Including the guestimation of tubes and patches, 1200 this year.
But I have bought two new bikes this year, plus a load of other fun stuff for the new bikes.
And this isn't including my travel costs to Paris, Eindhoven and Glasgow, which were entirely bike related events.

and all your stuff is a tax write off... as is mine :)

Haha, I thought that was what he said when I first read his post, but I wasn't thinking of steaks.

Separate bank accounts, but everything I buy is posted (crap LBS).
So the constant flow of parcels tends to give the game away. -

My mrs is highly attuned to how much bike parts can cost. It kind of works out OK tho e.g. this week came home with a Thomson seatpost and asked her to guess how much it cost. She guessed £140, so when I told her it was ~£50 it suddenly seemed cheap and the conversation moved on :D

Quite a bit considering I have no means of earning money:P

I showed my mrs a pair of ambrosio hubs I had bought.
They are budget hubs I said smiling.
40 pound for some hubs, but you can buy a bike for 200.
Smile drops, and I resolve to be less up front in future. -

I reckon I've just about broke even on spending/selling...
I've spent heavily on a recent fixed projects, but sold quite a bit of kit too.
I'm picking up a set of Phils next week from the states which are reasonably cheap - but the flight incurred will make them a fuckin' expensive set of hubs ( i can't believe the price to fly - £729!-Wankers!!) So travel costs to source parts for my bikes are cripplingly high! -

my girlfriend saw tynans post about ceramic bearings, the one where he questioned whether it was better off to have a bearing stronger than the hub surface, as it means the hub would wear out before the bearing. she thought it was hilarious, it's one of my favourite posts on here.
It's one of my best chat up lines, get's them every time. :D
