Started off thinking "what's the rubbish" but I'm listening to it again, I don't know why - it's strangely enticing.

Off for a few shows in Manchester, Bristol and Brighton with Healing Powers from tomorrow. Well excited! There's a link to their bandcamp below but they're much much better and rawer sounding live.

i have to say, anything that comes out of county durham is normally ace haha. totally not relevant to this thread but onsind are one of the greatest bands in the(/my) world. it's funny that the guys that do it are super into hardcore and punk rock but play something entirely different/interesting
also as an aside i've wondered about friendly otter for aaages, whoever that person is has an almost identical distro to me haha! puts out some excellent stuff, good for them.
the bassist from alpinist's new band (svffer) just put out a full-length, it's more dark hardcore from munster so obviously i'm in love with it:

Just got back after a really pleasant and in no way super long and torturous drive from Brighton to Leeds. Healing Powers were great every night. We played with loads of awesome bands, particularly highlights were Sky:Lark, really riffy punky hardcore from London. His&Hers, camp, fun, Blood Brothersesque punk from Brighton and Thin Privilege from Glasgow - absolutely disgusting sounding sludgey noisy stuff with two bassists.

Also, after the tour they're currently on I'll be playing drums for We Came Out Like Tigers which means loads more touring and way less commitment to real life! Exciting times.

And whilst I'm here, is anyone going to CMAR this year? I got my ticket, now I just need to work out how to get there! Plus, that Svffer band are great!

Condominium are playing 3 gigs in England next month. I think they're a good example of a hardcore band who can put a lot of ideas into a song without it sounding wanky or forced.

And I love this song off the single they did on Sub Pop

first time in a long time ive been excited by a record in this vein! That album is really good. I just realized that I am going to miss them as I will be in the US of America then but if any of you find yourselves in Berlin on Aug 5, they are playing at Europe's Famous Berghain that night. http://berghain.de/event/961
Also, LOL:

“the most important punk band to come out of [Syracuse] since Earth Crisis.”Jeeze, if you ever want to hear real, TRVE hardcore from the old school you should listen to 'Slither' by Earth Crisis. That album is the best.
