I'm very tempted but it's a long way to go if they're shit! I've seen Pageninetynine and Saetia this year. Pageninetynine were amazing and Saetia didn't do anything for me, despite loving them on record when I was younger. I'd be gutted to spend loads of time, effort, money and annual leave to go to the states to be underwhelmed, haha

Screaming Females have called a day, that's a shame.

Hmmm. Unfortunately going to be in the Us next July otherwise I could aim for To or Boston show…
Just reminded me of their labelmates Iconoclast. Listened the hell out of them back then -

@ltc - this one might be up your street - full-on mid 00s screamo revival!

This is cool! Nothing groundbreaking but lots of fun influences. Will definitely give it a few more spins.

Cady have a track on this compilation from Middle-Man Records to raise funds for e-sims cards for people in Gaza. This is crucial to help the people of Palestine stay in touch with each other and share their voices with the outside world. Sorry for the crap screenshots (which are very helpfully posted in a totally random order) but look at that line up!

when did gigs become so expensive?! (rhetorical - probs during the past 7 years of parenthood when i wasn’t going to many…)
anyway - Knocked Loose in Manchester next year is over £30*; Botch will be closer to £40..!
*£26.50 for the ticket; £2.65 booking fee; £1.60 delivery (…of eTicket… the cheapest option)

Indeed - was just reading an knterview with Scott Vogel today (Terror coming to town soon) and one point he lifted was
“3) Gas prices rise and rise…
Terror survived our first few years of touring getting paid $150 to $200 dollars a night. It wasn't always easy or profitable, but we got by on that money. With the rise of gas prices, I'm not sure how some bands make it. Greenvans introduced those vegetable oil vans but they didn't really seem to stick. I often wonder if people that go to shows and bitch about the prices of tickets and t-shirts ever think about how expensive it is to be on the road as a band.“And this was a few years ago. Seems like I never went to a show that was over 15 for the longest time. But then again I jumped on stage next to Scott when he was singing for Slugfest and he was yelling at everyone to stagedive….
Plus alot of bands have a bit different ethic now (booking agents, managers, label shit, no money from streams) ….

My band, Komarov, just released a new thing. Metallic, blasty screamo stuff. We're playing New Cross Inn on the 2nd of June with Harrowed, Wreathe (members of Fall Of Efrafra), Mister Lizard and Grim Harvest (my new metallic, blasty screamo band with members of Battle of Wolf 359, Crows an Wra and Consolation etc).
Available to stream on Bandcamp, Spotify etc.

Not hardcore, but if anyone in Berlin needs a ticket to NOFX/Pennywise/Descendents at the Citadel on 8th of June, let me know

I'm playing 2 sets at New Cross Inn on Sunday (Grim Harvest and Komarov). Playing with Harrowed, Mister Lizard and Wreathe (ex Fall Of Efrafa). Getting crusty!

I strongly recommend giving this record a listen. Banging screamo tinged crust from members of Fall of Efrafa. Very blatant Tragedy worship.

I thought I'd post some highlights from New Friends Fest (not including Pageninetynine because presumably everyone who is interested knows that they sound like already). Too many great bands to name them all but here are a few that blew me away!
Jetsam- great, grindy, screamo influenced power violence stuff. I'd never heard of them before seeing them but they blew me away.
Eyelet- unreasonably heavy, sludgy screamo.
.giffromgod- imagine if Pageninetynine listened to too much white belt metalcore.
Ostraca- best current screamo band? I'm biased because I spent a month on tour with them a few years ago. I watched them every night and would happily watch them every night for another month. Everything they've done has been excellent. 2/3 play in .giffromgod as well. Definitely the highlight of New Friends Fest for me!
