each individual craving only last a couple of minutes at most - sit it out and you'll be OK. And the frequency of them drops off quickly too, I find.
Good luck - just think of the children, or somefin..

Thanks you two. A little word of support goes a long way.
I just tried out Fred's tip (up thread) about taking a few deep breaths. It felt like a good buzz. I could get hooked on that. ;)

Skully
A friend was eating too much when working at home so used aversion therapy
Each time she wanted to visit the fridge she had to do 50 pressups
Fridge stopped being appealing and she now has Linda Hamilton arms

After smoking for a couple of years, still being in my teens n all, i found the best way to get rid the cravings, was to nurse the coldest pint (or two) of water i could find. Helped me quit for 5 months =)
I started again when exams and revision kicked in, but i dont feel nowhere near as un-healthy as i did when i quit.

And I have found gory photos on ash.org.uk useful too. and anything that sends you sms messages every day about how much healthier you are..

when i smoked a danish friend gave me a snus "pouch" or whatever you call 'em, chewing tobacco in a small tea-bag like thing that you put inside your lip. anyway, i am suprised to learn they are illegal in the UK despite being much healthier than smoking.
but still not using any products containing nicotine.

My mate Dave got on Champix. He went fuckin' loopy. Halucinations, vivid dreams, all sorts. He can't even be around smokers any more as the smell makes him feel rough!
I quit with hard will power, along with the occasional blunt! Been a year now without anything. Feels good!

It's my second month without cigarettes (only Cubans every now and then).
I used local chemist who run the NHS scheme this time. They gave me some patches and an inhaler.
Patches were great, but harsh. Gave me some serious skin rash etc.ps. Now I'm addicted to Ben&Jerry ice cream.

i've literally just accidentally quit smoking, I think?
i went out to this party on friday and smoked like a fish
terrible hangover the next morning, couldn't even think of injecting myself with more toxins...
and so on, and now it's been about a week and i feel fine (bar a tiny moment of panic last night when i had a pint)...moral of the story, get fucking blasted and see if that helps.
