Missed the coverage of the Enfield fire last night. Woke up to the news this morning showing it.
Important to remember though that the majority of London is still functioning normally. On my commute I saw nothing except a single boarded up restaurant. Don’t know whether precautionary or out of necessity.
But the authorities need to step on this now. Just get the fuck on with it and put the streets back into the hands of the general public.

Home Secretary's line is:
- Police work with consent of the community
- Therefore they need the community to be involved
- Lock up your kids, hide your wives
- Stay off the streets
- I won't call in the army
That's pretty much what she said on BBC London this morning... repeating the working with consent thing over and over.
Useless windbag.
Clearly the army are not the solution, the thing that they are trained to do cannot be done on London streets.
But the police... they were out in enough force during the student protests... where the f*** are they now?
The army are trained to do many things, come on David you know this. They can certainly provide a "presence" or human and vehicular road blocks without shooting anyone with guns. It would save the Turkish shopkeepers having to do it.
Teresa may is putting her head in the lions mouth and expecting it not to get bitten off. If this carries on, people will die.

I believe that the army also have teargas, rubber bullets, water cannon and other non lethal weapon systems at their disposal.

These kids already hate the police. Do you think the police roaming the streets randomly cracking heads is going to improve this now, or for a generation to come?
Do they though? Why do they hate the police? Under 16s can get away with just about anything and they know it, it's been like this since Blair.
It's not the 1970s or the 80s any more. No more excuses.

They might have microwave weapons as well, that make it feel like your skin is burning.

Phone constantly ringing here at WfW - people still wanting to come to their cycling session at Croydon Arena this morning. Good for them! And yes, business as usual as far as we're concerned.

Chapeau to you guys helping tidy up your communities this morning. The media want to be covering that and show how people won't be intimidated by this bullshit. Try and put out something positive!

And those sound devices that they use on cruise ships to repel pirates.
In a nutshell, the army could have been quite helpful.

Just sticking on some puncture proof tyres and heading over to Lee High Road where I understand almost every shop has been smashed up. I grew up round there and know many of the shopkeepers. This is why I will not be helping a certain camera/hifi shop that got fucked up last night...all his stuff is nicked anyway the scumbag.

The way things are going, this is going to cost the country more than the £850 billion that was spent on bailing out the model citizens who work for the big banks.
Or is it…?

But all they did was lie and steal.... Oh hang on...
Of course the community has to be involved in this. Communities do need to police themselves because policing by the police alone simply doesn't work. However Mrs May we would like to see some real force out on the streets too.
