  • the fa need the cash to pay for the stadium, bet they are using all kinds of excuses not to get it called off

  • I hope in time you will recognise that this is a mindlessly stupid thing to say.

...so we just need to invest more money in community projects? Sorry mate but if you are hanging around the scene of a riot like we saw in hackney and Clapham and you get caught up in some tough policing you need to blame yourself.Safest place last night was where the Turks came out with baseball bats.

  • Or as a police officer just said on the radio its a balance of what are the police going to do with however many thousand dutch fans who will be in London with no football game to watch.

  • I don't think the dutch (National) fans are going to go on the rampage. Eindhoeven and Ajax etc yes, be worried. National teams are so diluted these days.

Anyway, fucking twitter. It kept me in a high state of paranoia last night. This morning, three youts outside my house at 3am having a quiet argument. I listened intently and panicked internally.

  • didn't you send your butler down to sort it out ?

  • Theresa May is going to be interviewed on Today on BBC R4 shortly. Hope she gets and absolute grilling and is reminded of these comments

These kids already hate the police. Do you think the police roaming the streets randomly cracking heads is going to improve this now, or for a generation to come?

  • she says the parents , the neighbours the community must act ...... there is no community and the neighbours and parent(s) have new clothes !!!!

Theresa May is going to be interviewed on Today on BBC R4 shortly. Hope she gets and absolute grilling and is reminded of these comments

  • Carnage outside my place in clapham - police need to get violent with these fuckers, how are they supposed to do there job when the youths know that there are no consequences to their actions. Well done to the Turks!

  • is this our version of the " arab spring "
    the " english summer "
wonder when nato will start bombing hackney / houses of parliament

  • i don't think it should be random. However the fact that there are significant groups of people who hate the police and are intent on breaking the law actually calls for some policing. The policing needs to be effective so that law abiding citizens feel safe. When people are pushing the boundaries and they don't see a response then some are bound to push it further. It's time for a response and time to stop making excuses for this behavior. I had the impression that if the police had got stuck in where they were in force lots of people in this country would have watched media coverage and mobile phone footage and complained about brutality. Yet had there been some tough policing in hackney at about 5pm yesterday things might not have spread. I don't really care how those kids would feel about being beaten by the police for looting and rioting and it's a shame that yet again there are significant members of our society that are frightened of them and what their response to tough policing would be.

  • Wouldn't that be ironic if his tv shorts and burns down his house.

They hate the police, they certainly have no respect for them- so it sounds a bit like the police have nothing to lose with this "generation", maybe cracking some heads would stop them fucking up London again?

  • he might have paid for that ... racist

  • Home Secretary's line is:

    • Police work with consent of the community
    • Therefore they need the community to be involved
    • Lock up your kids, hide your wives
    • Stay off the streets
    • I won't call in the army

That's pretty much what she said on BBC London this morning... repeating the working with consent thing over and over.

    Useless windbag.

Clearly the army are not the solution, the thing that they are trained to do cannot be done on London streets.

But the police... they were out in enough force during the student protests... where the f*** are they now?

  • and those new trackie bottoms new trainers and two new scarves
    lottery win ?
    scratch card ?
    100-1 on the horses

  • I reckon they should use the indelible ink that they mark banknotes with, in paintball guns- machine gun the rioters, then contain them, then nick them at your leisure- just pick out the guys that are fluorescent yellow in the morning.

  • They hate the police, they certainly have no respect for them- so it sounds a bit like the police have nothing to lose with this "generation", maybe cracking some heads would stop them fucking up London again?

    +1

  • Oh, and the other thing she kept saying was how photos will be issued, videos made public, Blackberry and Twitter are working with the met.

The weakest kind of FUD. No-one honestly believes that they have the resources to catch everyone, and that there is what gives them all the belief that so long as many of them are looting and thieving the majority of them won't get caught.

  • ^Paint the rioters, arrest at leisure

  • Radio 4 comment on use of BBM: "It's like the thugs finding their own version of the Gutenberg press". I imagine that was their eureka moment.

  • judging by tv man's cheerful demeanour I'd say he got 0% finance AND extended warranty thrown in.

  • Plasmas use an awful lot of electricity, don't they? Do they all know this? I do hope they've put a little something aside to cover the bills.

  • Wouldn't that be ironic if his tv shorts and burns down his house.

He has obviously worked hard and has decided to splash out and buy a brand new TV. Why not? He is clearly very happy with his purchase and is prowd to be showing it to his friends.

  • Who knows? Maybe he got mugged before he got home with it, if it's back to rule of force out there then the biggest and meanest will rule.

He looks a bit small to hang on to that if someone else wants it.
