    Which is some irony in this current discussion as the @ symbol was originally used as a secret designator/identifier amongst the society of Baker-Stonemasons who did all of the work on the foundations of important buildings using various formulations of pastry, pies, tarts, etc.

    Freemasons were originally Freezemasons and they built municipal buildings out of ice. With the Industrial Revolution and subsequent global warming they had to band together to protect themselves from any repercussions and became the Freemasons we know today.
