Cheers Marky, just surprised me how quickly it must have turned, sod the looting its all about Snowys sweet peas getting trampled, how very dare they!
It was weird. To start with I nearly thought there must have been a gig at the Hoot. I'd been in France all weekend so missed much of the coverage of Tottenham. People were just wandering along the road - no sense of urgency, no fear, no excitement, just heading up the Currys. And they seemed to know A) the police would be ages in coming, B) they would get away once the police came and C) they would be there in numbers.

all of the above! they have the whole high st tied off now and the bottom of Atlantic too, few people milling about by KFF just looking on. My take ring side seat at the Ritzy this eve!

give peas a chance.
This, this and this. Bumped into my neighbours this morning - three post windrush generations in the same house. They were trying to salvage the rest of their veg patch.
You get used to the helicopters, and the bloody Curry's Biffa lorry turning up at 5.30 am, but when I could actually see the pilot from my window as I was closing it against the noise, I sort of twigged that something else was going on.
People were running down barnwell road back towards Somerleyton with big tellies apparently.

Tulse Hill gang is flexing its muscles at the moment, it's a reign of terror on the estates up there... And Brixton Gas were out in very large numbers at Splash yesterday...
BB pin riot, innit? -

There was a steady stream of kids going past my window with big boxes from about 2am... Some kids stole a car and crashed it into a lamp post on Water Lane, probably about to fill it up at Currys... Mental night, never seen the helicopter so low, it did look like it was about 30ft above your gaff, Snowy...

Hackney Wick is safe.
In case anyone was worried.
-
• #4484
Hackney wick is still covered in smashed glass from the hipster atrocities of the previous weekend.

• #4485
Not to mention the noise pollution coming from Viccy Park all weekend.

• #4486
I wonder if Island Electronics will be inadvertently torched by careless looters?
I'm watching Tooting carefully.

• #4487
I really hope most of you are okay, and able to escape somewhere safe if things get worse.

And the weekend before too (Luckily we'd all absconded to Hackney Downs instead).

Fuck that #vigilante justice
We could all band together and patrol North London in skin suits and TT helmets armed with polo mallets dispensing justice to the looting mobs

This is the kind of shit that happens in the kind of state the government has created
Really? Or is it just because they're cunts?

You utter, utter knobheads.
Pretty upsetting to be honest. These people aren't fit to vote.

Three fire engines off the road due to being attacked last night. There is a contingency for when there aren't enough fire engines available, as we've seen many times before due to industrial action. In a riot situation the plan gets slightly modified due to the increased danger. If people want to test those contingency firefighters and their support crews with rocks and petrol bombs, good luck with the aftermath as they won't fuck about in getting to a fire.

and they attacked lidl
surely if you were looting you'd go for M&S food and john lewis rugs rather than lidl and carpet rightClearly evidences the low levels of aspiration among today's youth. But then their adoption of BB's shows their desire to mirror the professional classes... young people today are so confused.

I'm starting to regret denying all the random friend requests on BBM now. I feel like I could have been part of the underground.

Summer and summer hols doesn't help.
Maybe the police could take preventative measures and round these people into some sort of concentrated area. That way they'd be easier to manage.
give peas a chance.
