  • I'd settle for an elected head of state / 2nd house and seizing their assets in the name of the citizens of the United North Sea Isles, after all it is technically ours, you know what with god not existing and all that.

  • who are we talking about here - the queen? her kids/grandkids?

again, where do we draw the line?

  • remove any sense of entitlement / state sponsored privilege based upon accident of birth and the line kinda draws itself.

  • All inheritance. Hoover it up, chuck it back in the pot.

  • If only there was a list...

  • i am all for making them live off the massive estates they spent centuries acquiring, but isn't it something like 50p a year they cost each taxpayer? there is far more expensive shit to get wound up about.

  • When you say acquiring, you mean taking by force?

  • Let's hear it from Mike. :)

  • they're welcome to your 50p - just not mine.

  • yes, of course. every asset the royal family own has been taken by killing and raping children.

how far back in history do you want to go? every bit of land (if that is what you are talking about) on the planet has been acquired by force.

i am probably just being argumentative, but i don't understand why people get so wound up by the royal family. is it the wealth? it's the cunts that get voted in and make the decisions (apparently) on behalf of all of us that piss me off.

  • fair enough

  • As well as forced arranged marriages of minors, religious persecution, unfair taxation and imposition of protectionist social barriers...

But it was a long time ago.

Edit - already covered by @BRM above.

  • Or the fact that they are still an integral part of the UK's 'democratic' process. Why should some old biddy have the right to appoint ministers / PMs, summon and dissolve Parliament and have freedom from prosecution solely by dint of her great-great-great-etcetc-granddad being a more successful murderous bastard than anyone else's great-great-great-etcetc-granddad?

  • it's the cunts that get voted in and make the decisions (apparently) on behalf of all of us that piss me off.

the difference being, i am allowed to vote those cunts out if i don't like them. the royal family sit on top of a toxic shitheap of undeserved privilege and entitlement. they also represent the apogee of a class structure / establishment that continues to blight the lives of millions of less fortunate people to this day. fuck em and all they hold dear.
