  • Thank Christ the sneakers are okay! What would the world do without the sneakers! breathes sigh of relief

  • There is a a Very Senior Manager's Pay scheme with performance related pay in it for DH + PCT Ambulance + SHA+/NHS England staff not for Hospital Trusts and Foundation Trusts staff.

The Clinical Excellence Awards are paid to consultant medical staff in recognition of exceptional contributions to the service and also fall under the all encompassing "bonuses" the Mirror refers to

I had no idea that VSM catered for bonuses. Cheers for that.

  • IDF shoots two teens as it does but this time it's caught on camera. First lad wasn't even involved in the rock throwing, was on the way back from school with his rucksack still on. Second guy, 16, was walking away.

The IDF's rules of engagement are vague and relaxed. Arguably their targeting policy is against the Geneva convention.

  • Fucking scum.

  • That is fucking awful.

  • I might be completely off on this but it seems like one group throwing their toys out of the pram because they're losing their monopoly? Am I wrong?

  • Pretty much. If they think everyone is going to start choosing private hire, which I assume they think they are if they're kicking off about it, they've got to ask themselves why and address that. Obviously vandalising the offices and calling them scum is easier though.

    It's not new.

Cambridge City Council were once going to increase the number of Hackney Carriage Licenses and the people who proposed it were reported to have received death threats from the cabbies.

  • It connects those needing a ride with a background-checked private driver...

But why on earth would such a thing even be seen as necessary?

Things turned a little bit nasty, punches were thrown and the police were called.

    Oh. Oh, yes, I see.

Are you saying that a secret cabal of cabbies (a cabbieal if you will) is behind the suppression of tandem bicycles due to their potential for cyclists to carry fare-paying passengers around london?

  • 'Cabal' already had cab in it!

TXI is an acronym for "Taxis crossed with Illuminati"

    Oxymorons will destroy us all.

In other news, Wyoming and Utah considering bringing back the fucking firing squad because they are having trouble accessing the correct drugs for lethal injections.

  • ^^ I don't understand why they have such a hard time coming up with ways to murder people that aren't cruel and unusual (beyond the standard levels of barbarism that come with murdering people in the first place).

I can think of two "humane" methods straight off:
    1) Run them over, or
    2) Displace the oxygen from the air that they are breathing with an inert gas, such as helium. This is totally painless, and the victim would not even realise that they are dying, as they become hypoxic. With added squeaky voice bonus.

  • ^ Not a serial killer, honest...

  • Option 2 sounds suspiciously scientific. It'd never catch on in the States.

  • Yeah, I'd go with option 1. If possible the victim or victims family can be in/driving the car, so win win really.

  • Put them in a room with a gun, one bullet, no food or water. Open it up and hose it down a month later, they'll have made their choice.

  • ^don't repeat that idea to anyone from Tennessee - they'll start trialling it next week.

  • american police seem to be able to kill people pretty efficiently, although to be fair they are usually innocent, put them in charge

surely with modern day pharmaceuticals you would have thought they could make a chemical that could kill quickly and efficently

maybe portland down could help out

  • Sad day for Glasgow.

The Macintosh building currently a blaze...
