Far from it being just bland, this portrait makes her look vile and ridiculous at the same time, which is quite an achievement.
Hardly an achievement. Being a member of the royal family it comes with the territory.

I was talking about the portraitist's achievement, though. The last time I checked, he wasn't a member of the Royle Family. :)

Looks like herself but in about 20 years. So perhaps it was just futureproofing?

Without getting into the gun argument (again), I don't think you could describe tarrantino's interview as a strop. He actually seems pretty controlled and calm, I think most people would be much worse if there was a subject they didn't want to talk about... I like his movies, but he does come across as a dick though.
^This.

So awesome: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/response/isnt-petition-response-youre-looking
Disappointing. Imagine the jobs that would create. Perhaps Britain should build one. It was in the news yesterday that Space is one area where the UK is leading the way

Here's a video of the artist talking about his portrait of Kate, which was done from photographs:

What's interesting about it is that you can see the photographs he was working from in the video and they all look perfectly normal and fine. He's really done a number on the poor woman.

Nice quote from the Telegraph's art critic Mark Hudson on the royal portrait
'If Kim Jong Un had such a portrait painted, we'd mock the pitiful taste of foreign despots'

Who will kettle the police when they start demonstrating?
-
• #19075
Does this just pave the way for eventual private police force?
Or changes to the contract so Police can finally be made redundant.
That could have been a serious story in the mail with almost no changes.
