    Yay for the Dutch?

Fun idea, but the answer is nay. Demanding heated roads for cyclists is as pathetic as UK motorists associations demanding our taxmoney is spent on gritting the entire country in order to save drivers the relatively modest cost of all year tyres.

Either use public transport on icy days or HTFU and buy some studded tyres.

  • the FUCK is wrong with people giving a fuck about flying a flag? total dickheads all of 'em, both sides - shame because Belfast is a great city

The people make a city. This is why Belfast is, and always will be, an utter shitpit.

  • My granddad was a protestant from the bad lands of Belfast. Left for the UK when his catholic friend was murdered and the police didn't bother with it. That was when he was 18. He did go back to Ireland until he was in his 70s. Didn't have much nice to say about the place.

  • Colonialism will tend to fuck a country up alright. British Empire has a lot to answer for.

  • It's on my to-do list.

No it doesn't. It was abolished decades ago.

  • Well that's my todo list sorted then, time to relax.

  • To be fair, I haven't checked if it apologised beforehand. You might still have to head out to St Kitts or something and make them account for their actions

    Yay for the Dutch?

Heated cycle paths designed by Gerhard Winters.

sorry if repost, I did UTFS. Seems this will be their first ever.

Commonwealth or whatever you call it still exists. Empire rebranded.

I cant think of a place that Britain invaded / colonised where it worked out pretty well for everyone in the end. Any place that was previously under the Crown, or still is, seems to be pretty fucked up, especially for any indigenous people who might have survived it.

  • Alex Jones vs Piers Morgan CNN On Gun Control - YouTube

Post interview comment.... Morgan remarked, "That kind of vitriol, hatred, and zealotry is really quite scary. I didn't feel threatened by him [Jones], but I'm concerned that someone like him has that level of influence," adding. "There's got to be a level of discourse that can rise above what happened last night. It was undignified, unedifying.

Hong Kong and Singapore are alright. Can't really think of any others, though. Australia and NZ are doing fine by modern standards, obvs, but as you've noted the indigenous populations of either might not necessarily agree.

  • I can't think of a country on the fucking planet where its worked out pretty well for everyone in the end, so blaming the British Empire for the world's ills seems something of an over reaction.

  • Certainly the bunch or arses in Belfast can take a bit of responsibility for their own dickheadedness. 'Blame the Brits and act like a wanker' is a bit of a cop out.

  • I usually find the jones videos quite funny, I can just about stomach them for entertainment.. But when combined with Piers Morgan, who I find myself actually agreeing with, the experience is totally unpalatable. I'm not sure if I can watch.

This, it is far too easy to massively oversimplify what is a highly complex set of issues.

  • Well, you (pl.) would say that, wouldnt you.

The Irish are wont to blame somebody else for all their woes, though some of it is justified. This influence can also be seen in the inhabitants of Liverpool, many of whom are Irish descent.

  • There'd be no rioting in Belfast tonight if the Ulster plantation (colonial, empire, etc) hadn't happened.

  • Yep, that's the attitude - keep bleating about the Brits and acting the dick. That's what'll keep Belfast a mire full of thick bigoted scum blaming everyone else for another few lifetimes.

  • ^There probably would. Over some OTHER stupid shit.

  • The people make a city. This is why Belfast is, and always will be, an utter shitpit.

you can't write off the vest majority of people there who aren't fucking idiots

  • Can too. Anyone who wasn't a fucking idiot got out of there as soon as they could afford the Sealink ticket.

  • ah you're talking pish mate - I've had some great times in NI with lovely people

    you've been there, right?
