As for RO'G, he was half-knocked out after coming on out of position with no centres right at the end of an intense match. He made two big mistakes but cannot be blamed as the sole reason the Lions lost that match.
I disagree - watch the pride of the lions DVD and watch Shaun Edwards reaction - however i agree that he had no clue what he was doing, but all he had to do was kick it into touch.

Mike Catt, Matt Stevens, Stuart Abbott, Riki Flutey, Dylan Hartley to name but a few recent imports to the English international team.. Martin Johnson even played for NZ under 18s!
If the IRB really supported rugby in the Pacific Islands (and other emerging rugby nations) instead of just paying lip service to the idea, some Islanders wouldn't have to justifiably make the trip to NZ in order to earn a wage playing rugby. You can't blame NZ for something that England or any other international country in the same position would do.
Personally, I don't find NZ or their fans any more irritating than the Aussies, SA, Wales or England. The only real difference is that NZ have consistently been the strongest team between world cups and are rightfully considered favourites.
Will - but none of those naturalised English players cames from "lesser" nations, thereby weakening their pool of talent. Johnson just happened to be travelling in New Zealand - he was born in England and had played for the Leicester colts. My nephew did the same thing in NZ this summer.
Actually I find pretty much all rugby fans boring, Barbour wearing, fools with a bizarre sense of supriority that comes from a public school education. I've got a mate who's a mad Leinster fan and he's the biggest cock. Bloody egg chasers ;^)
The reaction of the NZ fans after the French kicked their arses at the last world cup was a disgrace though. The All Blacks should have been reduced to 14 men after a blatant off the ball punch that put Betsen out of the game in the first few minutes, and there was a forward pass as blatant as the French one in the build up to one of their tries too. All got overlooked when they huffed and puffed about the referee though.

Was it a heat of the moment reaction?
If RO'G had kicked it out the match would have almost certainly ended in a draw (making it impossible to win the series anyway). He did what he did in order to try to regain the ball on the half-way or in SA territory and attempt to get a try or some points to win the game.
Have a look back at the decisive moment and watch what RO'G does just before he kicks it. He wants a man behind the ball to follow the kick as well and that other man doesn't. Had two of our team attempted to regain the ball we might have had a better chance.
Personally, I'd rather we chanced our arm than settled for a draw.
But all of that is beside the point. There were loads of other factors that meant the lions lost that day. Ronan's mistakes were far more obvious but the result of other problems.

Off to go and see the Springboks now, £10 for a game at Wembley seems good value. -

Well to be fair i am not a ROG fan, he alway seems to bottle it when the chips are down on teh big stage - IMO as soon as Ireland bin him and get Staunton on the better.
I am kinda with Markyboy on the fan front - i went to one of the leading rugby playing public schools in the country, where all that matter was whether the 1st 15 won or lost - everything else was secondary, including academia, and the training was near enough professional level. I always loved playing, even going on to play some club rugby, but hated the rugger bugger side of things.
Having said that, i have a fair few friends who are top professionals, and all of them do not remotely resemble a rugger bugger - most dont even drink, and the training routines they put themselves through are pretty insane
