  • I assume they want to force people to buy full bikes - prob got loads of groupsets they need to shift

  • What fork you gonna pop on this? I fancy a fully rigid one for pub rides, shame it doesn't have the swop outs for some simple single speed action.

  • Got the aforementioned 26" Sektor RL which came on a Voodoo full sus I bought that turned out to have knackered and bodged mounts for the rocker. Downside is 15mm TA and all my TA wheels are 29" and my spare front hubs are QR.

  • Reckon you could get 650b in? Wheels might be cheaper.

  • Clearance to the chainstay yoke and seatstay bridge are only enough for 650b x 2.2", maybe 2.3, don't have any assembled 650b wheels handy (although I do have some carbon 650b rims waiting for unspecified project). Also, I'd need a different fork.

I need to remeasure but I think the seatstay bridge is a few mm closer to the axle than the top of the yoke. Might fit a 700x35mm cx tyre with mud clearance.

  • Be interested to hear what the clearance is like with 650b. I'm after a new frame and loved these as a teen. I wonder how they fare against modern trail/DJ bikes?

  • Any thoughts on the mystique?

  • A few good reductions on PX at the moment..
    Athena chainset £60
    Cx rays £1
    G one all rounds £20

  • Took my bootzipper out in the snow today. Must ride it more.

  • Big fan of that frame bag

  • Cheers! I made it myself. Pics of the bag and process here if you're interested.

  • PX don't seem to sell their own brand 'mickey' bars anymore. To similar to a competitors?

  • Probably just ran out of stock. It’s the same off-the-peg that everyone else is using from Satori

  • Bought a new Carnac helmet as I’m really happy with current one just want a black instead of/as well as white.

Bought same size but Croix instead of Notus. It arrived today and would almost fit inside the old one it’s so wee. Suspect it’s a mis-labelled small/medium rather than large/extra large.

What’s the quickest way to get my money back, straight to PayPal claim?

  • Use their returns procedure??

  • Yeah. I thought they were meant to be total cunts to get money back off but my mate says he returned stuff recently and it went smoothly enough.

Going to send an email as well as I’m really hoping it is a mislabelled size and I can get one that fits.

  • Returned some chains with them, absolutely no hassle and money arrived back promptly after they received the package.

  • Difference in sizes is because they've changed supplier for helmets.

They were pretty decent about it and sent me a returns label so it didn't cost me anything to send it back.

  • Do Planet X still do their big massive reduction sales sometimes? Quite fancy a Bootzipper 29er, but not really up for paying their 'new' pricing strategy of £450 for a frameset, considering how cheap they used to be.

It's like when Sam Smiths doubled their prices overnight (among other reasons for not going in there).

  • Carnac Road Helmets for big heads £8.49, smaller £9.99 today. Bargains.

  • .

  • I just gambled £49.99 (plus postage) on a raw jack flash frame to build up to use at the new local pump track.

If anything isn't standard it could be a very slow build.

  • Frame is here, bb fitted smbb70, headset ordered with adapter for straight steerer on Reba Race fork which should be a good match. Most other bits are in spares box or will be taken off the inbred so hopefully a quick build once the headset arrives.

  • How did you get on with this?

  • Any photos?
