Any feedback on these?
I find my SLR very comfy, but some numbness on longer rides... This looks much like an SLR with a cutout (?)... but that is one big ass cutout....
Would I be better off trying a MAX SLR ?
And anyone know the difference between the SLC and the SLK?

^ i was going to ask the same question:)
I find slr flow to be the best one so far, but i have the same problem - some numbness on longer rides
Have you tried specialized toupe? It's similar to slr but my sitbones didn't like it.
It may work for you though.I'm trying phenom atm.
After that i might give slc a go.Search for the perfect saddle continues...

How are your current saddles angled? Flat, tilted up or down at the front?
-
• #731
If I ride my SLR / SLR Flow angled perfectly level, there's a slight chance of fleeting numbness if I get lazy and stay rooted in one position for too long. This doesn't happen if I angle them up so that the front edge of the spirit level bubble just touches the line marked towards the front, IYSWIM i.e. about half a turn tighter on the front bolt / half a turn looser on the rear bolt (on a f/r 2-bolt seatpost setup).

As mentioned a trillions times elsewhere, numbness/discomfort is also exacerbated by having the saddle a fraction too high / too aftwards, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc,

I can't ride with saddle angled up. As most women, it's leveled or tilted slightly down.
I have slr leveled.
Might try some different angles (though i tried few different set ups already) when i get a new one (someone borrowed mine and crashed it riding into the back of the car:)
I'm without a saddle right now, so decided to try couple more before going back to slr.
Maybe i find something better. -

I'm finding the Romin Pro harsh, but fair

Maybe i find something better. It's not *really *angled up though. It's more a case of subtly adjusting which part of the saddle top is the flat part (even 'flat' saddles aren't totally flat, especially when sat upon).
The trouble with setting a lot of saddles 'flat' is that it makes the sitbone bearing area point ever so slightly downwards, causing you to roll more onto your perineum, from which stems numbness.
These are fairly minute, and almost imperceptible changes, and it's a reason why 1-bolt notched clamp seatposts are often impractical.

Sacked off the Rolls a few weeks ago, unbelievably uncomfortable even though I thought they were meant to be really good. No idea why I rode it for so long. Bought a Brooks Swallow select and it's like having a new arse. Comfy straight out the box, did take a lot of tweaking to get the angle right (feels like I need it tilted up a fair bit to get the right support) but its bloomin' comfy now.

+1 to what BMMF said, just to add my own experience of a saddle being ~5mm too high is enough to cause my lower back to tighten up over 50 miles and make standing straight post ride very difficult for some time.

That SLC I have is really good but the hole in it means your bum crack fills with road-splash in the rain.
Reason not to buy another.

Senor Bear, missed your post first time round....
Got my SLC yesterday, rode it to work tonight. Fantastic, just like an slr really but more comfortable. I think they're meant to mould to your arse as well, so if it's comfortable to start with then I guess it's only going to improve. I just wish it didn't have the pointless (and tacky looking) carbon nose...
I can live with a bit of a refreshing splash, don't have a bidet at home....

I know they've re-released them, but does anyone know what is the modern Selle Italia equivalent of the Flite?
Cheers.

Go for a comfort saddle and not for a "trendy" one

It is comfortable, but so bloody hard, i wasn't brave enough to ride on it without padded shorts yet.
Hope it's truth what you're saying about the saddle moulding to arse.

To continue on the Selle SLR theme, I was wondering if someone can tell me the difference between the SLR XP (new version) and the standard SLR Fibra (which seems to be more of a classic SLR).
Cheers!

Though I'd post this in hereā¦
I loved the look of the Zoncolan so I ordered one from Wiggle with some discount codes. It turned up this morning but it's not the version I was expecting.
Here are the two different versions:
The first is more subtle and much nicer looking. I hope it has not been "updated" and replaced by the second - those whites strips go all the way down the sides and the darker black bit is actually shiny!
It looks like it'll be comfortable though, in an Arione kind of way.

Dom, I have a good-as-new version "A" for sale here if you can't find one.

Thanks, I shall have that off you! PM coming.

Anyone know how the charge spoon compares to a Turbo? They seem to get a really good press so thinking of picking one up as i'm not getting along with the Turbo really, it feels like it gets too wide too soon if that makes any sense.
-
• #748
I really didn't like the spoon, it's broad, flat and rigid in the middle which hurt me man junk...
-
• #749
same here, I rather the turbo
-
• #750
The SLC is indeed comfortable but I have a tendency to fall in to the cutout when on the drops which creates a pinch and ultimately gives me a sore gooch. Not perfect but ok is my long test ride verdict.
The search for saddle nirvana continues; I have now a Fizik Kurve Chameleon and an Adamo Prologue.
has anyone had any experience with this saddle? http://www.tokyofixedgear.com/products/47-Saddles/4590-TF-Imports---Aero-Race-Saddle---Black/
i was thinking about getting a turbo but the price of this is tempting me
