Zoncolan!
Rode the Dunwich Dynamo on one of these that I borrowed so my saddle and bar tape matched for the rolla hill climb and then forgot to change it to something I knew I'd be comfortable on and was amazed at how good the Zoncolan was and really didn't want to give it back.

Sweet as. Haven't had a chance to ride more than 20mi in one go yet though.
Don't courier do 40-50 miles a day?
Max! why you no worked?
-
• #454
You need to take it out for 70+. Well, I like to ride 100k or more before I really notice differences.
true--- 20 miles and if its a badun' it begins to resemble a chainsaw, on the other hand if its a goodun' it still feels like it did when you first sat on it at the beginning of the ride.

I bought a Zoncolan recently, seems fine out of all the saddles I tried was my favourite, that's the great thing about having an LBS who aren't just there to sell you shit you don't need - I spent a good few hours and must have tried about 10 different saddles - I desperately wanted the Phobos to fit right though, so I could say 'Tranquility on Phobos' (House heads will know) but alas, no Tranquillity for my arse on Phobos!
But having said that 50 odd miles on my new(ish) Brooks B17 Narrow was a breeze

The other great alternative is the Selle An-atomica, which is basically an improved version of the Brooks.

anyone recommendations for a saddle that's comparable to the charge spoon? I absolutely love mine, but they've been discontinued. I know they still can be purchased here and there, but for future reference, what's a saddle quite similar to the spoon? fizik aliante?
-

spoon are cheap, buy now in ebay 6 or 7

I got a specialized Romin recently and absolutely love it. The shape is perfect, it's got very little padding and you don't move around on it at all.

Yep, the Aliante is a very similar shape. I imagine you'll get on well with it if you like the spoon. I'd suggest buying from wiggle - their refund system is very good.

Likewise. Now pissed that my other bikes aren't as comfy and I may be forced to shell out for a couple more Romins.

The concept behind the Zoncolan seems to be to have the length of the arione, combined with the profile of the flite, and with a soft almost tri like nose. Definitly sounds the part.
I have the Phobos on my SS 29er, where works brilliantly. Would'nt be so keen to use it on a roadie though.

While I use a Spoon for both eating soup and riding about on.
I would like to own a Brooks ( Because everyone else goes on about them all the time )
I wouldn't mind trying ( plonking down on ) a Soma Okami.
Never seen one up close and personal - but it looks OK, just wish it came in brown.
Tokyo fixed have it on sale... -

try a Regal?
-
• #468
Them Somas look dope. Saw them last time i was @ TFG with the Paisley Embossment! Had a Regal for ages. Was nice, but after 60 miles wasn't forgiving on my derier. Just upgraded to a Fizik Arione Wingflex Manganese (Sailor sold it to me, as new for £10! Winner!). Feels good.
Mines the black one with red stripe... Would have gone black on black, but hey a tenner!

The red stripe... makes the bike go faster.

Fyxation, have a Regal look-a-likey...
With cool looking tacky transfer star on it. -

Not discontinued just new stock coming in at various retailers. Example is the new black/grey Spoon with leather and Ti rails...

Another vote for the Specialized Romin. Very impressed after a number of shorter rides, still yet to do a 50+ miler on it yet. Very different feel to the Toupe and Alias which I have used in the past in discomfort.

It's all about the Romins now.

Specialized Jett.
Doesn't seemed to have a problem with them, the 155mm version that is, it's very tolerance compare to the other 155mm SP saddle I've tried.
The thing about the Jett is that the sidewall flex a lots, which made a huge difference in comfort compare to saddle that's stupidity stiff.
Will have to try Specialized Ruby to see how it is as they appear to be similar to the Jett, just lighter and thinner.

"designs for women" snigger
I need to get out on those Tuesday night rides I think.
