Arg, every time I come home to Swansea my insomnia kicks in. Last night I didn't sleep until past 4ish, I bet tonight is going to be the same.
I think the main problem is that I'm not active here like I am in London, where I have to cycle to college or go to work and do things all day, here I get driven everywhere then walk leisurely around shops, then get driven home and food is placed in front of me, then I might be allowed to do a tiny bit of washing up before the agonising trek upstairs to slump on the sofa for 5 hours to watch tv. I'm not used to such a sedentary life and my body is crying out for some exercise!

I might have a bike you can borrow actually, fancy a cycle tomorrow?

Grooming. ;)
Well fell asleep after scoffing christmas cake and maltessers instead of going to out..........epic fail. Now can't sleep and stuck in North London. Might go for a cycle. After a cup of tea? Or coffee.

Need to sleep but too fricking cold to sleep.
Can't afford to sleep through my alarm again.
Just put two extra layers of merino on, doubled up my duvet and stuck a heater on.
Should do the job.

Hey all,
Saw this thread a couple of days ago and it reminded me of I guy I worked with who quit his job with us to work on a idea based around insomnia.
Could be of some help to some people.
Has anyone tried this ? I have a history of insomnia and am having a bad bout at the moment. Also just been put on Anti D's for Anxiety.
I cant sleep because im stressed about not getting any sleep ! :( -

If you can't sleep, do some yoga, do some meditation, try and do the Mindfulness Body-scan, always puts me to sleep!
I took Valerian for a while, but became immune to it's effects. Yoga is helping a lot.

i have been suffering again also this week

I find that clocks forward/backwards and changes in weather always fuck with my sleep. 30+ years of 4 hours or less sleep a night (bar six months on some sedating antidepressants) has taken its toll.
Anyone tried the sleepio programme linked to above?

Yes, weather changes fuck me up too, I also get migraines around these time. I've done my back in recently (again) and it's totally bollocksed my sleep up. I can sleep maximum 2 hours striaght, then spend ages getting comfortable, then the same. On good nights I'm getting 5 hours.
meh.

WTF is all this about? A week ago and I'm in the same situation.
I've had enough...

Try listening to some white noise or some really low levelled tame music whilst in bed.
-
• #793
I've tried everything this time...
I've resisted sticking on the Tindersticks, but this may be the only way.

Some psych-drone always seems to help me, something you can only just about hear over the thoughts in your own head.
If music doesn't help, how about a fast paced spin around the block, then jump into bed whilst still huffing and puffing,
hopefully you'll be somewhat tuckered out. -

I can't sleep either.. stupid 3 in the afternoon..

Stupid birds in the garden start chirping at 4:15 in the morning and go on for hours.
Can't escape the noise from any room.
This usually starts in February and lasts through the summer.
Are there sound proof headphones you can actually sleep in?
-
• #797
um, ear plugs.

The thread has been very quiet
My sleeping pattern is properly fucked!
Worked nights last week, but ended up having to stay in on saturday till midday, then went home and slept managed to get a couple of hours before having to get up, then finally got some sleep on sunday night but ended up asleep till 5pm on monday, and then I've been awake pretty much since then!

received an email that woke me up, it contained a furious and rather misdirected rant at me but it has left me feeling very unsettled.

you sure it wasn't just a forum post?
Same here, finished working at 4am (had to solve problem before i could sleep), then woke at 6am, then back to sleep around 7, until 9.30, and now, I'm bang awake, but feeling like someone tied me in a knot.
