Unfortunately, it took a lot of rum.

Insomnia's for pussies. If I want to sleep 200 hours straight, I'll do it. If I want to stay up for 6 weeks, bring it on. Who cares if a few innocent bystanders are caught in the crossfire. . .

I was actually awake for 4 days straight once due to a month long bout of insomnia. Good days were about 3 hours of sleep. Bad days were less than 1. The 4 days awake stretch was insane. On the 4th day I went to school, I couldn't do simple maths, and couldn't spell for shit, I just curled into a ball and cried. Got sent to the school nurse who tried to make me see a psychiatrist. Was fucking strange.
My girlfriend ended up breaking up with me 3 weeks in because I was either really upset or really angry, I think I broke my cock from excessive masturbation to pass the time awake in bed, my bike changed colour 3 times during the period, by the 3rd week I'd taken to jumping the gates of my local park and doing laps on my bike while smoking a 20 deck just because I had nothing better to do.
I finally fell asleep one day in an art class and woke up with a shit load of paint on my face. Got sent to the headmaster for causing such a disruption, everyone in school knew I couldn't sleep properly so when I fell asleep in class they were all cheering. Teacher thought I'd done it on purpose for shits and giggles....

yeah lying in bed trying to fall back asleep is the worst. get up and do something. read for 20 minutes. then go back to bed and sleep till noon.
(i mean its not like you have anything to get up for...)

ahhh, my crippling insomnia returns!
I ended up crashing at the lab for the past two days in the middle of the day, and achieving nothing, and then not sleeping at all at night.
So, to cut a long story shorter, I'm now in the lab, working on a 12hr experiment, which I'm roughly 1/2 way through! yay!
Then to bed, for like 2hrs shut eye, and back in to finish the fucker.
In the past week my sleeping pattern has reduced from when i was ill- about 10-13 hrs a day, to 1-3hrs a night.
I feel ace now though, but i miss my mornings. -

i used to ride my bike until my body rebelled and made me sleep. then, i rode my bike, came home and spent hours researching how to ride my bike faster until my body rebelled and made me sleep.
now i have to find a whole number of things to help me sleep. alougth blasting myself on the bike helps an awful lot.

i never had any trouble sleeping before this year. in fact, i could easily have slept double what i was had i not had to get up and go to work.
but for some reason in the last 12 months or so i'm really struggling to get to sleep, stay asleep and to sleep longer at the weekends. even if i'm knackered and have had a late night i seem to wake up at 6-7am which is fine in the week but frikken annoying at weekends. especially as i cannot sleep in the day (never been able to do that). hence by the time i get to saturday night for the BIG NIGHT OUT i'm exhausted, yawning and withdrawn.
you think it's got anything to do with guilt over killing those people?
i've said too much.
You win the respect of my 5 day old daughter who also has trouble sleeping.
