  • True. There is a replacement coming for that, currently at "what if we did this" stage.

  • System six replacement?

  • Possibly. All very much notional. The number 953 has been mentioned.

  • Well you are getting on a bit. Probably time for some bikes for life.

Hang on: I thought you broke that up out of necessity? Has emilie paid for the zipps yet or will you be recalling them?

  • Zipps are gone, SRM is going this weekend.

Current financial situation will be resolved soon, however, and then I can start planning things again.

I'd like to carry on using my 7970, as there is nothing wrong with it and I've got a couple of 7900 cassettes.

But I'll need new wheels, and a new powermeter come summer.

  • Probably time for some bikes for life.

I've had at least 4 of them

  • I'm generally alright in thin gloves 90% of the time. The other 10% can be really fucking bad if you don't have the right stuff on.

    Today is exactly this.

So the S*********d Elements 1.5 work brilliantly except when it's around 0 degrees.

Spend 15 minutes wimpering like a fool trying to get the feeling back into my finger under the warm tap.

Endura Pro Nemo is a brilliant glove, only complaint is lack of tip for the touch screen phone, I promptly discovered that it's entirely possible to get your entire body to sweat from your hand.

Time to break out the ski glove.

  • Gore countdown.

Honestly, so warm. And if you're a pussy just wear some silk liners.

I've been riding round gloveless though the past week during the daytime. It's lovely.

    You are JB, AICMFP

  • Defeet Dura wooly still doing it for me even today. They are made by wizards.

^I got those Endura Nemos too but as Ed notes they make your hands sweat something rotten.

  • What size did you go with the Endura? the Defeet look promising.

  • Endura are XL and Defeet Dura wooly was M but have strangely elongated fingers compared to the standard Dura.

I can also just get the Nemo over the Defeet's and still move my fingers if things get apocalyptic.

  • Cheer, the Nemo are oddly small for the size.

  • The defeet wooly are good. But only down to 4-5 degree. Nice gloves to ride in though. Easy to get stuff from pockets and comfy. I do find they slip on the gear paddle sometimes, but that's like all gloves. Would like to find a rubber strip to stick onto the gear paddle and brake front really.

at risk of repeating myself, but that's because they're repurposed deep sea diving gloves, so should be tight when worn diving (and are much cheaper http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=neoprene+diving+gloves+5mm&client=safari&rls=en&tbm=shop&source=lnms&sa=X&ei=tTqoUuXTAceJhQeY0oDoAw&ved=0CAsQ_AUoAw&biw=1427&bih=940&dpr=1 )

Strip of innertube and strong double sided tape?

  • After what must be 3 winters my fox antifreeze are starting to have a few minor problems, the shiny 'coating' on the liner is coming away on the palms, anyone else had this? I notice you can still get them so maybe its time for a new pair

  • Are they decent sptr?

That make sense, I find my finger tend to get colder with tighter glove, having a little bit of room help keep my finger warm.

  • Are they decent sptr?

They are my go to really cold weather glove, my hands do get a bit cold but I rode a few times last year in what was -10* and my hands were OK. Once I felt the need to put liner on underneath but otherwise I find them lovely and toasty. Someone else on here uses them too, Dov or dan maybe?

*when you factor in wind chill

  • Strip of innertube and strong double sided tape?

AH good thought. I'll have a look for some doublesided tape.
Not sure what innertube will be like in the wet. If it'll still be grippy.

  • Bit of skateboard griptape? Might be a bit harsh on gloves

  • I have some griptape i used for TT handlebars, which I thought about using, but it'd rip wool gloves apart. Hence the rubber.

  • I am quite surprised how much £7 silk glove liners helped under what are otherwise average winter gloves.

  • Got some £35 Altura Waterproof jobbies. Whatever they're like they should be better than the shredded ones I have now.
