Winter gloves

  • I have a pair of extremities thin climbing gloves that seem to cope with 70% of weather conditions in this country (not hot, not extreme cold, or extreme wet) - they cost me about £12 three years ago and just keep going and going. They keep just enough wind off but are still breathable and don't get cold until they are properly soaked. They also have grippy palm - but note there is no padding (I like gloves without padding).

I would thoroughly recommend them. I will be buying another pair when these die.

    edit, look like this:

  • ^^This is the plan: ditch the mitts during the cooler autumnal months, then some full on oven gloves as all that Siberian air hits

  • I used these all last winter until I lost one. No problems at all so
    I just ordered another pair.

  • I have a pair of those mouldering away in the shed somewhere. Fit was bad, didn't find them very warm or waterproof and cheaply made. Not for me.

  • Couple of friends had them - fell to bits on both of them.

  • The quality seemed good for less than a fiver, I only had my old pair for a few months though. Warm enough for me but not super waterproof.

  • its not that cold yet though.

im going to learn. buy gloves in june. get the most expensive for the most discount ever.
instead of spending 3 times as much on the 9 pairs of shite gloves im going to wind up with in february.

  • I ride countdowns when training. Very waterproof. But 2h + of proper rain and your hands will get wet. However they will stay warm.

They don't last a very long time either, last night rain already got it soaked through within 20 minutes of riding.

To be fair she did have that glove for two years, which account for the loss of it's waterproof.

  • ^^i meant last year in the middle of winter.

  • I just ordered the lightweight PX gloves for use in my pogies.

Hope they dont fall apart :(

Give them a wash and a coat of spray on nik wax and they'll be good to go.

Thanks for this, I might have a go at one of their models, for me windstopping is the key for me staying warm. I think I will check out the , the 'Windy Lite Dry' version...

  • Winter motocross gloves are worth a look IMO. Pair them with a silk liner for extra warmth!

  • I use the Fox Antifreeze

  • So do i, with my merino liners when i get really cold.

  • Shhhh, keep it between us.

  • Get a room you two

  • Defeet Dura merino gloves have always seemed to be a pain in the arse to find in stock in the UK but Sigma Sport have them in stock and 10% off with AW10 code and free postage = £14.39

Now to find the wool armskins and kneekers which seem to be equally awkward to buy in the UK

  • In decathlon this afternoon and spotted these B-Twin full neoprene gloves. They boasted fully waterproof. I tested this in their bathroom sink before leaving and they passed.

Should be good for a lightweight waterproof glove. Can fit silk liners underneath if I wanted too.

    Impressed for £20.

  • The only thing that sucks with neoprene gloves is that they are not breathable and after using them your hands stink because of that ..

  • They keep you sooo fucking warm though.

  • It would seem from the photo that the middle finger comes with reinforcement stitching. Could come in handy.

  • ^^^ looks like a killing spree's about to happen.

  • Maybe it already has, that was 3 days ago.

    Bodies hidden underwater obv
