Danny MacAskill of Inspired Bicycles... got skill

  • This is funny because fixie trick bikes which are basically commuter hybrids are used by a whole scene for trying to do awesome radical manouvres like wheelies and bunny hops.

But here is a bike designed for hopping up & down rocks/crazy obstacles, with a practically gymnastic rider featuring in a 'commuting' video trying to look cool.

It is also funny you got a job in a bike shop.

FYI ... it is similar a skit .. most mountain bike videos I have seen in the last about 15 year have had something similar usually as a joke, except this is done in slow motion to make danny Macaskill look shit when he is really awesome.

EDIT: On second thought I dunno whether he is taking the piss.

  • Do you think he takes a different route home? Just to liven up his commute?

  • well they've upped the production quality, but the slow mo footage is so overdone. his skills looked much more raw in the old handycam style clip, where you can actually see how fast he pulls those stunts.

  • The first vid was filmed and edited by my mate dave sowerby (his flatmate), this was made by a skater, the same guy who produced the doves video with Danny in it.

This video's going to be split into 2-3 parts when its shown on telly. I agree though, the music's rubbish and slow-mo stuffs annoying. Plus its wet at the start and in the next scene its dry. Seemingly it was shot with some megabucks RED camera (£150k), so thats why it all looks nice. He's seemingly doing an add for VW in lisbon now.

  • Interview with DM in Singletrack mag this month.

  • The real question however are ....

Will this be reposted to fuck?

Will Crazy_James Finally accept that doing fixed tricks looks a bit like a retarded monky having a wank?

Ahem.......I'm on 24 inch singlespeed with a freecoaster for tricks now.
For me the whole fixed tricks thing was a bit of experimentation....a bit of fun, i've come to the conclusion that it is still fun however I found myself drifting more and more back to bmx type stuff (which is what I spent the last 10 years before that doing) and wanting to hit skateparks again, which is more fun on singlespeed.

On the plus side I don't think my fakie riding would be anywhere near as good as it is now if I hadn't have taken up fixed gear tricks, so I did get something pretty cool out of it :)
I still think what a lot of the guys out there are doing is cool, I just want to get back to not having to worry about crank timing before tricks and something more flickable with smaller geometry more akin to a bmx, hence getting on the 24 inch, as it gives me the bmx feel but with a better riding position for my screwed shoulder.

  • as much as i think trials pwns, and i have a bit of a mancrush on danny macaskill it sucks for commuting. as does bmx for anything longer than 30 mins, but its still an option as they can be pretty quick.however backpack sweatpatch seems an unsolvable problem.

  • :D I used to skate some of those spots, the last building in the vid had some great marble ledges and gaps.. snapped my hours old blueprint Irn-bru board there!

was that the Colin Kenedy deck?

  • nice soundtrack...... any know who ?

I was pulling your plonker a bit.

  • I was pulling your plonker a bit.

I know.....that probably explains the sticky mess right after I read that message too..... ;)

  • I remember those bad boys! I also remember "tech decks" - finger skateboards... Ridiculous inventions which I could never get to grips with but still insisted on paying way too much money for.

  • coppi that says £1 fee

  • You deserve everything that is coming to you.

  • No one said he wasn't amazing. However, everyone with access to the internet in this universe has watched danny to death. Did it not occur to you while posting that mediocre clip that it may have come up before on here?
£1 fee. Or did i miss something?

  • This could be an internet sensation.

  • Holy horseshit that's amazing!!!!!!!!one!!!!

Why haven't I seen that before?!?!?!?!?!

  • You watched rudetube didnt you?

  • Oliver Schick would never make such a mistake.

  • Hahahahaha brilliant

  • I think I've lost count.

  • wow, I mean... seriously... wow.

I have most definately never seen this video posted before on this forum. Ever. Nope, definately not. I used the fucking search and I didn't find anything. Nothing. Not a single thread. Fucking awesome. I'm so glad that you have brought this incredible video to my attention.
