It's a funny one, there were a number of reasons behind the Kings Head- Roebuck move, but we shed a lot of good people in that move, which was a real shame.
That may be because the Kings Head is on a main route to the South East badlands, and also because it was close enough for the tight trousered to pop over from The East.
The cobbled pub (George?)** is quite charming** in it's way, and as a non-drinker I don't personally care that it can take upwards of more like 10 minutes to get a pint, but people should be a little patient considering it's a lovely characterful old pub.
Also, I wear a suit at work fuck you if you think that defines me.

this story goes back to when that situation happened with my frame, so now it was try making up kind of free. in general their pricing never seemed to have stung me when i had to resort to some extra pair of hands to help me out of a pickle.
i needed the odd stubborn bb removed or a freewheel remover put to work. all in all quick twists from the wrist if the right tool is in your possession. i like the fact that at lmnh they try to accomodate those quick jobs within a cup of fine café mocca. i just hate lbs' reply "yeah but you have to leave it with us till monay next week." or along those lines.
in my case now, sam was friendly and accommodating as usual and this minor detail shall be fixed soon, so i am promised.
They definitely strike me as decent. I've heard a fair few good stories. I just assumed that they would charge a lot.

Also, I wear a suit at work, and whilst I can see what you are saying I also would like to politely state: fuck you if you think that defines me.
Didn't meant it in an offensive way, sorry if it came out like that.

At least his statement is polite, on the other hand you are just rude when quoting people's posts and leaving the words out.

Come on man... I'm not being rude am I?.. :-/
I wasn't trying to miss out words, I'm just quoting what I found important or relevant to what I thought.
In my experience it doesn't take more than 10mins to get served there. So what if people wear suits or if there are "suits" there... (I'm sure for every one of us there are 10 of them muttering "dirty loud sodding cyclist again.. grumble mumble etc etc.." anyway)That is all I'm trying to say...

LMNH is pretty well priced. Evans charge 20 odd quid for a puncture repair, we charge 12.

Pushing this again: who fancies heading for a curry next Tuesday, and who would rather wait till the 18th?
How much is the all you can eat and whats the choice
-
• #16216
i still like the roebuck. there's room for our bikes and there's room for us, inside and out.
would go for monthly curry though

Tenner a head. Example choice described here

That's the idea. Cambria doesn't have as much external bike parking as the Buck but there's a partially-covered back yard with plenty of space, bit like the Raven but with less chance of bikes being nicked.

uh...missed like three pages worth of curry chat and other chat. Anything I need to know. Will no one be at the Roe tomorrow?

• #16219
First experimental curry excursion is pencilled in for the 18th.
-
• #16220
Nope, nothing worth reading I don't think. I raised the question about whether we should find another pub and the consensus is clearly that no, the Roebuck is still a good venue and we are staying there.
-
• #16221
Agreed.
Though it'd be nice if they could get a good stout in.
-
• #16222
oh, right! well if curry isn't until the 18th then I may well join in in that! thanks!

Elliot's Cafe. Between Monmouth and Feng Sushi. Great food and drink and most dishes are less than a tenner. They bake their own bread downstairs, too...
