Its "ok" changing venue, it just has to widely broadcast a few weeks in advance with no more mention of other possible venues. Once the change has been made, everyone has to stick by it and keep quiet.
Wests nearly fractured in two, and it could have all been over, BUT now we're at the new pub it's great an theres been a new face showing up nearly every week.Best pub for when the winter closes in has to be the ancient 16th century olde pub on borogh high street. Amazing ale/bitter, lovely interior, sheltered cobbled courtyard, 1/2 dozen or so gas burners outside :) I'l be birthdaying there at the start of December fo sho!
I think that your "everyone has to stick to it no matter what" is bit too pushy. And people do not like to be pushed into anything.
In relation to your pub choice Rowhan I believe that you are talking about The George Inn. Nice pub but always too overcrowded with loads of suits people. Long wait for a drinks too and if you had a look at the closing time they are closing at 11pm which means if you lucky you might get last drink at 10.40pm. Not so much of a space inside too. If it comes to winter Buck at least lets you to reserve the long table for whatever time on the weekly basis.
Doesn't that pub always have 4000000 people in it?
You are right and they are all wearing suits too. So not so much of a nice custom.

Well, we've (various people) raised the idea several times and the general consensus still seems to be that people like the Roe which is fair enough. Its a good pub. Seems like a closed case to me.

I think that yours 'everyone has to stick to it no matter what' is bit too pushy. And people do not like to be pushed into anything.
What I'm talking about is the decision (when it happens) to move (or not move as the case may well be) that, once a general consensus is in that wherever the beers are going to be; everyone accepts the majority vote and the suggestions of new venue and/or dissent of possibly not being happy with staying or moving just stops.
For week after week Wests was plagued by "but I like this pub because.." or I don't want to go to this pub because..."
Fuck that. If everyone or the majority of people are happy with the Roebuck (as I very much suspect is the case)... then that is the end of the discussion! The unhappy few if there are any can go off and do what they like. =) -

It's a funny one, there were a number of reasons behind the Kings Head- Roebuck move, but we shed a lot of good people in that move, which was a real shame.
That may be because the Kings Head is on a main route to the South East badlands, and also because it was close enough for the tight trousered to pop over from The East.
I think continuity is important, as has been said otherwise people end up saying "I'd go to SE's tonight, if only someone knew where it was", and you end up as
a laughing stockWests. The cobbled pub (George?) is quite charming in it's way, and as a non-drinker I don't personally care that it can take upwards of four hours to get a pint, but I suspect that other people may.
Also, I wear a suit at work, and whilst I can see what you are saying I also would like to politely state: fuck you if you think that defines me.

As others have said, there's no way the George would work. It was usually fine about ten years ago, but it's got so busy since then that our bikes would be in the way and it's quite difficult to get served in the utterly rammed bar.
Oh crap! I promise I will text you next time.
