Ditto. Excellent petition. Passing it on to anyone I can think who will sign it.

My Exposure Flare is dying a protracted death. It's a rubbish design, but it's out of warranty so I can't really have it replaced.
What is similarly solid in design, but actually works?

What's wrong with the Flare? I have two and they both work fine.

Flare? Morgan pls; get a spuersix evo and put a £25 light! ; )
Get joystick (at least). -

Flare is a rear light
-
• #3408
Oh, no they do a front Flare as well.

What about an Exposure redeye if you have are running an Exposure front light? Powered by the front light. Run cable along top tube, nice and bright. Used mine over 2 winters - faultless.

First outing with the Hope 1 tonight. Lit up the lanes perfectly and is as much as I'll need I would have thought.
Thanks for the recommendation.

Are there any standout lights for city riding currently? Had my bike nicked with 2x smart flash rear lights and a couple of front mounts for a cateye single shot plus.
Looking to grab an excellent re-chargable or AAA battery drive rear light and something blinky on the front around or under 100 lumens.

In my opinion one of the best rear lights you can get is the Smart Lunar R2. Particularly when it's on sale at On-One/PlanetX.
The Cateye Volt 300 front is quit good (£60 mind) as it has enough power for darker out of town rides and a good attention grabbing flashingode for in town.

Smart Lunar R1 - plenty bright enough - twice the battery life of R2.

I've got a similar problem with the Flash, but no-where near as pronounced. Any knock, however slight, turns the light off for about .5 of a second. When it turns back on, it will either be in a different mode, or about 50% as bright as beforehand. Occasionally it will just turn off completely. I can turn the whole thing off with the slightest tap of a finger. It's so fragile it's beyond belief.
I initially thought this was because the springs were not stiff enough to maintain contact with the head when going over bumps, but I've put in some much stronger springs and it's still a problem :(

Get joystick (at least). It's the Flash/Flare kit, and they've been great for the last 6 months. Now they're so shaky as to be unusable. I'm going to buy a massive Exposure front light at some point, for blinding cars, but I cannae afford it rn

Unfortunately I've only got a little commuter Exposure Flash at the front, with no ports for addition lights.
Also. Run a cable down the top tube? pffffffttttt what the fuck do you think this is?!

Agree with this; very 'MTB' looking.
Get Joystick* (and above) front light and either red eye (£12; connects to joystick 'smart port' but the only constrain is helmet mount) or TraceR. I am currently using Diablo and Tracer with afterhour richmond laps I can spot deer and avoid death.
*dont even bother with anything else like lezyne etc. Exposure aesthetic is very industrial and works; think Miele or Tune/Syntace.

Ultimate rear light? (with no cable)

Anyone got any recommendations for head torches? Going mountain biking and have discovered my £3 from costco head torch is really not good enough.

Still loving my Hope District+. It wasn't cheap, it only mounts to seatposts and only if they're round but I just can't fault it for quality. Maybe the battery pack is too unsightly for some, but I can live with that.

One of my lezynes has bitten the dust AGAIN. I cba to go through the warranty again so looking for some recommendations for a set of lights for city stuff with some dark country lane jaunts thrown in
Something around 300 for the front 80 for the back?

• #3420
how did it die?
-
• #3421
No idea, it will charge but wont turn on. It's the second one i've had to do the same thing and a mate of mine has had about 3 fuck up i think.
-
• #3422
Mine developed a similar fault, although occasionally wouldn't charge either. I could get it on if I was quite brutal with the switch. Sometimes it required banging against the palm of my hand.

Anyone interested in an older 240 lumen Exposure Joystick MaXx? Has a walking/running headband for it too but not the bike mount.

I'm just about to buy a moon comet rear, anything else I should consider though? The things I like about the moon comet (without having tried it), I have the moon mask front and it's great. USB chargeable is a plus, seems to have good side visibility.

If I was in your shoes, I would invest with the moon shield instead of the comet. mainly because of size, brightness and how long it last compared to the comet. IMO I think the shield is more water resistance than the comet too.
