Got myself an Exposure Strada yesterday to replace my dying Lezyne Superdrive. What a quality piece of kit. Love the remote mode switch which I attached to the inner-side of the brake hood. This remote switch was a feature I had on a Cateye light years ago and have missed ever since; really easy to operate with winter gloves on.
Whilst I've only done one ride with it so far its great.
The one concern I had today was it was raining and I had the remote switch plugged in which is presumably not as water tight as the "storm cap". Has anyone ever had issues with this?

Older models don't have storm flaps and this has never been a problem.

Cheers. Do you mean they had the charge socket open to the elements?

Just given my Moon Mask a first run out. It is really bright for a very dinky light. The attachment to the bracket isn't totally convincing and what negative reviews is does get are generally because that teeny screw has sheared off. Still, it's holding on mine. The strobe mode is bonkers though. When would you ever use it?
Without one to look at, this explanation is confusing. But i'll keep an eye out for teeny screws !!
I like flashing for "be seen" rather than see, in lit streets. So maybe for that purpose.

After three dark rides, two in dense fog, I'm loving my new Exposure Strada. The Exposure clamp with the cleat on the light is the best bar mount I've ever used as well. Probably the most costly as well.
Wasn't loving the muppet that shone his god knows how many thousand lumen helmet light up the road and in my eyes in one of the country lanes. Couldn't see a damn thing. They should be illegal.

rear blackburn flea has finally given up on charging from the usb and i never got on with the velcro starps that kept on breaking at the joins.
Knog blinders the next best alternative?
The fleas have a lifetime warranty so you can get them replaced.
I got my money back and got one of these, which is superb on constant, although the flash modes have too long between flashes for my liking. £24

^^ completely agree. So much light overkill, even in London. Consider other road users!

Thanks for the protip. Where exactly did you send them back to? Pretty sure i don't have the receipt anymore.

picked an exposure spark / flare pack for 75 notes at CC (40% ticket price, not bad for a days work). One question tho - whats the logic behind the battery charger? at the moment if you plug the batts in nowt happens. there's two cheap looking little LED's under each battery housing that are doing nothing. are they sposed to go on when the cunts are charged? Off when the batteries are fully charged? is it fuxxord?
i dunno lol!

Sounds like my charger.
It's shit. Sometimes a light goes on. sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes batteries charge, sometimes they don't.

The light is supposed to flash red/green when charging, then goes to green when fully charged.
But it can be a bit hit and miss.

im taking it back to the shop in that case. the charger looks cheap and flimsy compared to the lights. the reason i got the pissing things was because i was sick to the back teeth with the blackburn USB charger sometimes not charging. sort it fucking out lights making companies!

they have sorted it with the new versions of them lights; USB chargable though ..

It was one of those online shops where your account shows your purchase history.

The mount is a silicone band which is held onto the light by a tapered metal boss, with a small screw through the centre. The screw is quite dinky so a potential weakpoint. I can post a photo if it's useful.

These are very good in my experience. I've had mine for the best part of two years and have had no issues with them whatsoever.
The charger works okay, just can be temperamental at times.

Ball ache of a charging system I constantly have to keep checking it hasn't worked itself loose.

ive unplugged it from the wall socket, but the light on the plug is still on. presumably it's haunted.

Nah no worries, I've got it now and the bit you mean is obvious.
Feels like "rotation" would be the movement most likely to damage it, so maybe avoid that... that said it's the same mount on my gem 2.0 and that's shown no complaints after years of rough treatment

My impression is that you could turn the band through 90 degrees in order to stem mount it and it would be ok. If you rolled the light sideways or forwards, I agree, it does look like it might break. Good to know it's held up ok for you though.

are we still using 'chinese' as a pejorative term?
'Chinese made' in the pejorative sense could refer to their worker exploitation - manufacturing sectors low wages, the poor working conditions, lack of OH&S measures, etc. So yeah, Chinese-made does still have negative connotations and that's without dipping into the QC barrel.

does anybody manufacture LEDs in europe?
The same with T6 emitters put out ~ 600 lumens (x2) so yeah 1500 is more realistic.
5000 is literally, unbelievable.
