Definitely worth spending money on lights, although my Chinese special was quoted at 2x the lumens of my Macrodrive I ended up selling it cos it was bulkier, has less battery life and had a crap beam pattern.

my flea's have been with me for over two years now (the previously reported faulty rear has started charging again) and they really are brighter than the sun. Those fucking velcro straps tho... HNNNNNNNNNG!!

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/exposure-trace-light-set/ £83.56 + 3% quidco = JUST above £80
Evans had the best price on the Exposures, got the set for just over £70, but I used the newsletter £5 discount on each so effectively got a tenner off when buying them separately...

I bought the Six Pack because it reminds me of beer.
What more do you need?

Sportpursiut, however unpopular they are, are doing the Flash/Flare set for £45.

I need a set of teeny tiny lights to keep in my saddlebag.
I was thinking of the little moon gems. Any better ideas?
I have some EBay/DX lights but they arent really bright enough to be safe.
I've been getting on pretty well with a set of Electron Milli. I'd ride home with them alone in an emergency, but I usually pair them up with other lights.

I know I +1'd this but I seem to be having trouble with mine - not even had it a month yet.
It was working fine on my way home from work this evening, popped into tesco quickly and as I went to set off again it just wouldnt work. Something similar happened about a week or so back but I thought nothing of it. Replaced the batteries at the time and it was fine again... Replaced the b82rez again tonight but still not working hmm.
Will email Planet X and see what they say...
Received a replacement from Planet X today. Top guys.
Hope this one lasts.

Was so impressed with the Moon Comet rear light, I got the front one, £18 FREE P&P from Hargrove Cycles, small, bright, and easy to whip on and off
-
• #3235
But that's enough about my pants, the light's great too
-
• #3236
Very impressed with this light too, though only downside is that they only last around 5-6 hours max, which requires me to recharge these bad boys every 4/5 days.
-
• #3237
That is a downside and I carry a small set of back-ups (the little Lezyne ones) but since I sit in front of a computer everyday, USB charging isn't a problem for me

So here are the options atm for a bright, heavy duty, everyday use, urban, weather proof, rear light:
Blackburn Flea 2.0
Cateye TL-LD610
RSP Evade
Cateye EL-Uno Rapid 3 (only the rear light)
Or would you suggest something else? Limit is £20 -
• #3239
And for a front light reserved for urban rides or low lighting (not pitch black mountain biking just a country road or bad lit backstreet) which of the two is best?
RSP RX480 (Just front light)
Moon SHO6L
again, would anything else be recommended? Limit is £20ish -

The 0.5watt rear lights PX have been selling for £2.50 are really good. They're £3.99 now. Same case shape as the Smart Lunar.
I have a 2x0.5 watt RSP thing but it's too bright to have flashing with any riders following and needs a charge quite often.

again, would anything else be recommended? Limit is £20ishThis is reasonably well reviewed (on road.cc, wiggle and tredz) and cheap:

Although I wouldn't necessarily describe it as heavy duty. I hope to get mine in a few days so I can give you a more informed opinion then.

^ I haz. Well, hats has as she's borrowed it, but yeah they are good.
Probably bright enough to ride country lanes in the dark (although I wouldn't recommend that), certainly bright enough for commuting. Bonus strobe mode for giving everyone epileptic fits

Do you get the urge to do the "nnts-nnts-nnts-nnts" bassline when in strobe mode?

Cheers guys. Yep I looked at the Moon 5.0 but someone told the the USB bit is weak and it broke. I'm between it and the Moon SHO6L for front.
The Smart Lunar R2 looks good but what about the Cateye TL-LD610? Has anyone ever tried it?

The http://www.wiggle.co.uk/pdw-radbot-1000-1-watt-led-rear-light/ is decent. The flash patterns are a bit more eye-catching than your standard light and it's got a reflector built in too.

Looks shit though lol. Gotta factor that in :)

I agree. Its excellent survived many, many rides in torrential rain and two winters now. So good and cheap I got one for each bike in our household.

Personally I've gone for the 1/2 watt - plenty bright enough for commuting and twice the battery life.
I'm probably going to buy an emergency USB battery thingie. To keep my Garmin charged. So I figured some small USB charged lights would be the thing.
