  • I'm down to 9 now... Phew! :]

  • I'll be down to a definite 13 before I head to the pub in 10. I'm giving myself a target of 6 months to achieve a single figure.

  • dude, did you do the marathon ride?
i saw someone on a brakeless london langster.

  • I'm not sure including beer is fair...

Err, yes. Mines completely covered in stickers, there was another but it had a brake and no stickers.

  • Tattoo thing looks like fun though!

Sorry no, thats Chris SF. Looks like I got away with this one then.

  • okay :)

  • I'm only on 7 or 8(depending on beer), guess I better start saving for a spok.

  • Been meaning to extend my all black Japanese inspired upper arm design into a sleeve (got it done in Nottingham by Terry Stafford, cost me around £150 and I love it)

Anyone know of any places that do good Japanese work on black skin? In Nottingham artists were a bit picky. Looking at the tattoo threads on here, in2you and Family Business are general favourites, but how are they with black skin? Also looks like waiting times are crazy, no?

here is a pic, only one I have on my work computer (that's me in the middle ie the black one)

  • sigh, I should have known this would happen

You should have bought the magazine when it was out, it was in WHSmith and most newsagents until yesterday.

    Now, tattoos please!

  • Saira, who used to be at Family Business, but is now at Good Times with Nicole Lowe.
She does nice Japanese style work, and did a beautiful back piece for a freind of mine, who is mised race, with quite dark skin.

    give her a try.

I have a couple of 'Sairas', she is ace but booked up for a year

I was gonna say try Nicole but she's booked up for 2yrs

  • New Wave in Musswell Hill are really good. Long waiting list though (wich I serpose is a good thing).

  • All the decent studios/artists have long waiting lists, nature of the business

  • i've been waiting since the begning of december to get my sleeve started at family business.... the wait is almost up! first session on tuesday!

went to approve the artwork yesterday... i am excited to say the least.

  • Nice, look forward to seeing it. Who's doing it?

  • yeah, was afraid of that, I've never had to wait more than 3 weeks for one before, so I guess I'll have to get used to it here in London (only lived here for about 18 months).

Cool, thanks everybody I'll try out those suggestions...anyone else with any others?

    I'm excited for ya spagettihoops!

  • If you have a design and know exactly what you want then even the best guys/gals get cancellations. If you can be available on short notice you might get lucky.

You could try Claudia Sabe at Jolie Rouge, Caledonian Rd, she did some work on me while she was at Frith Street but I know Jolie Rouge isn't as hectic.
    Decent artist too

When I got mine started (granted two years ago) I went in to book one and was told he had a cancelation the next tuesday, then as it was started he booking me in for a month after. If I hadent got that it was a 4 month wait. Pretty lucky.
