  • Both Crystal Palace and the Cyclopark at Gravesend are selective enough to weed out the field.

  • ^ can't find any more info about these; you got a link dimi?

  • Thanks! I couldn't find anything on the BC website... eejit

  • If I have a silver bc membership but not a race licence, isn't there something about getting unlimited free day passes?

  • Mallory again tmw night, if anyone's going?
Rest of club are racing tonight, but I'm in derby.

  • Thursday is TT night. I might go next Thursday.

  • Well, I should be there again. Its the only racing I can guarantee getting to as my Thursday's are often shorter in the afternoon.

  • Tonight's not looking wonderful, bout a 20mph wind whipping across the circuit currently and building.

  • Nip up to the A46 and do a proper race.

  • Eurgh. That was painful. Don't know what happened, but vision blacked out and I went all wobbly at 26 miles. DNF. Broken, and had news of a rescheduled lecture when I thought I had a three day weekend. Not the best of evenings.

  • Raced against Lizzie Armitstead in the 2/3/4s at Otley circuit races on Wednesday night. She was fast and lovely.

  • I rode my first mass-start race this morning. A 2/3/4 hilly road race 60 miles in length. I managed 24 of those miles before I was dropped, for good.

    Things I think I learned;

    • Surges, watch for them
    • What happens over the top of the hill is more important than the hill
    • Sprinting downhill to chase is interesting (and I'm shit at it)
    • If it feels easy then a surge is imminent
    • The outside is where all the cool kids hang
    • Tailwinds are not cat4 friendly, crosswinds are interesting
    • Those surges are coming for you

How did she compare to 2nd cat riders pace-wise? Bet there were a few keen to sit in her wheel. Bloody perverts.

  • It was a crit, with a bit of a hill, which i don't think would really suit her. She held her own, was working to chase the group that got away, but wasn't significantly faster than us (unfortunately). She had also just beasted the womens race so may have been slightly fatigued.

I tried not to be the pervert, but she is absolutely gorgeous.

In other news, picked up another 9 BC points this weekend, on 78 for the season, would like to break a ton.

  • Awesome work K, I wish I could manage any at the moment. Just not fit.
Racing Wednesday this week as probably can't make Thursday at Mallory. Scared as fuck, course is challenging and weather looks like it will be greasy.

  • I'm racing the Colne GP tomorrow, preparing to get my arse handed to me by the Elite's. Be happy if i can keep on for one lap.

  • Did I imagine someone had shot some drone footage with a phantom 2 vision or some such at Hog Hill?Does anyone have a link - can't find it.

  • That sounds sweet!
    Kompute- how'd it go?
Back to back racing for me this week it seems.
Will easily make it to Mallory tmw and predicted 25C weather will help get me there.

Im sure its BIG events that have the drone at Hog hill and Hillingdon. They post the videos on their facebook page and youtube

  • Looks like the season is over for me. Going to have an operation on my clavicle tomorrow and then it's at least 4 weeks recovery period. Doctor said it might take a few month until I'm allowed back on the bike. Was trying to stay in cat 3 for as much as I could, at the moment I'm only 3 points away from upgrading the category. Not so sure at the moment if I'm going to come back to racing at all. This year was a bit unlucky - almost every race there was some technical or a problem which stopped from getting on the podium.

  • Sorry to hear that dude. You shouldn't give up though, you've looked really strong every time I've seen you race this year. Bad luck doesn't last forever..

  • You'll be back.

Rest up and take a mental break! It'll be fun when you come back to scratch the itch!
