  • Anybody know when crits start at Lea Valley. Apparently its fast, flat and due to replace Hillingdon as London's premier carbon graveyard. I'll still race there though.

I've heard that nothing may happen this year, as the racing calendar was already fixed by the time the venue approached local clubs.

  • Was good to see you dude!
Strong racing..... dont do so much work on the front, and you'll have more left in the tank for the attacks on the last few laps!

Today's sheep wrangling was a bit more effort-filled than I'd anticipated too.
    Absolutely cooked now.
Any idea where the photos might appear. The website is terrible/ non-existent!
(Or the video from the motorbike)

  • Continuing my cat4 endeavours, tomorrow I've got a race just outside Nottingham. Currently debating the 15mile ride out or if I should just drive it.

  • This is a great description of what it's like to race at Crystal Palace;

Are you doing the cycle live thing on Saturday?

  • No, a load of clubmates will be but I have to be in London.

  • I'll be there for the fixed gear crit.

Real men always ride to the start.

  • Fair call. I think it will be faster.

  • I'll be there for the fixed gear crit.

    Me too

  • Cool! Have you ridden the course yet?
I streetviewed it and found this on strava. 42kph average. Don't think 48x15 would be enough on the long straight.

  • No I haven't, but I know plenty of people who have. I'll try and get up at some point this week. I'm planning on running 51/49x15

  • Who else is doing cycle live? I'm racing in the geared "omnium". We will be in my mates big red van, and variously wearing Chorlton Velo and Team Chronomaster kit.

  • I am doing the Omnium (in Banbury Star kit fyi). Quite looking forward to it, will be something a bit different. Although doing a TTT the day before will either be good or bad. Will find out upon first couple of pedal strokes!

Fg crit looks fun, will try and get there to watch that.

Anyone have experience of the course?

  • No, but google streetviewing it it looks like its should be fairly simple. No really tight corners.

  • It is very simple. Should be a fun crit/ omnium.

  • Big fucking crash.
DNF for me. 2 teammates in hospital, nothing serious I think.
Managed to avoid it but got caught up and ended my race.
    Other teammate won.

  • I have seen alll the crashes in races recently, i think i need to quit flat racing.

    1- Dull, 2- Crashfests

  • Nottingham crits were actuially quite fun, though i stuck it in the barrier whilst off the front. Silly.

  • I've just got the start list for my race in Otley on Tuesday, Lizzie Armitstead is first reserve! I'm going to get my arse handed to me!

  • Some pics I took of the fg race at Nottingham live:

  • Anyone @ Mallory thursday?
Will probably be there, failing dismally at the 'hilly' crit.

  • Missed out on a breakaway, won some money. Didn't come in top 10.
    Progress.

  • Looking to finally dip my toe in... Don't suppose there's any cat4 tracks with some lumps in them in south East are there, bar hog hill? Won't have much chance on a pure flat crit
