• In fact I was going to take photos of them to post on here to show how well they've stood up to 11 months of daily wear.

  • I have thought i may have the wrong cleats, because the box was opened and the dude in the shop just said "i think there the right ones"

i may try time atacs so i can use them on my fixed gear to

  • are there any 'larger' spd/atac compatible pedals that are like say these

    http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?hl=en&q=shimano+spd-sl+pedal&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1280&bih=679&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=9937159442431476908&sa=X&ei=wsUWULqvCqmi0QXB14GYDA&ved=0CJEBEPMCMAA

just for a larger platform if i need to nip to the shop in trainers, id rather not buy the fully fledged double sided pedals though..

  • You do realise those are road pedals, and would probably be even harder to ride with trainers...?

You want something like this I guess, but I'm not sure it's worth it

  • yeah i realise theyre spd-sl but they look easier to pedal than most of the tiny things that are spd! both of those arent really what i had in mind, might just go with small standard oness!

  • I knew a guy who put some skate board grip tape on the bottom of his spd sl's, so he could ride with normal shoe's, still looked sketchy to me though.

Riding wearing converse using the underside of my spd-rs once made my feet hurt for a week. If I have to use trainers on those pedals I'll always use the normal side now.

  • These look pretty good, Shimano a530

Pedals with clipless and flat is nothing short of annoying.

    Genius!

Pedals with clipless and flat is nothing short of annoying.

I always think its like when people get a rigid frame but one of those suspension seat post, don't quite go all the way and ends up no better than it was before.

  • Exactly like that.

To be fair it's fine outside the city, but having to flip the pedals round without the aids of clip/strap make it a little hit/miss.

  • Just got a pair of DZR Ovis. Having read this thread I wasn't expecting the best workmanship. There's a few dangling strands of cotton and stuff but nothing major. I would say I'm relived.

My first pair of clip shoes. Yeh, they're no slippers are they? Plus, my feet are red hot. Maybe that's more due to the leather.

They look the fucking shit, though.

I'm a UK size 11. Bought euro 46. Think 45 would have fit better length wise, but maybe wouldn't have been wide enough. I do have wide feet. Bit late now, but what brands are wide fitting? I'm sure I've read something like one brand has a 'sub range' of wide sizes.

Anyhoo, wearing them for a while before cutting, I think

    Thanks.

  • Just seen these: http://www.ukbikesdepot.com/m10b135s68p7774/SIXSIXONE_Filter_SPD_Compatible_Shoe_

Seem a fairly good price for a casual spd shoe, anyone had a go with them? Recommend them?

  • i've been buying them on and off for a few years, the build quality isnt great, so i would never pay £60 for them again, but they are a good shoe if you can get them in the sale.

  • Do they fit like normal shoe sizes or do you need to go up Max? Sorry I asked you the other day but forgot...

  • just like normal shoes

  • Exactly like that.

I use a530's, and I used to ride clips. Clipping in is as just as fast with these as with a double sided pedal, because they're usually in orientation you left them in. The front lip is easy enough to find and flip the pedal with if not. Also, the platform side is grippy enough to use temporarily if you are somehow caught out at the lights. Overall I'd recommend them. Thanks everyone. Thanks. Cheers. Thanks again.

  • took a dive and bought myself Kursk Pro, lets hope they perform well and match my expectations. I am a bit skeptical about this purchase, not really a huge fan on '2-in-1' things but lets hope I am wrong, otherwise I will return them; Anyone here who swears by Kursk Pros? I use older version of these atm: http://www.mavic.com/en/product/footwear/mountain-bike/footwear/Rush

  • I think it might depend on your feet. I've heard a lot of people say the Kursks rub their heels but I've never had that problem and find they fit the shape of my feet really well. I had to go down a size and a half compared to usual though which I thought was weird.

Anyway I like them a lot, I wear them all day and the only time I feel like I'm not wearing regular shoes is on big staircases, but they're still plenty stiff enough - they're fine for commuting obviously but I'm also happy to wear them for 50-60 miles rides.

  • my kursks were uncomfortable around the heel when i got them, but they broke in a bit and now are comfy as fuck.
bear in mind i wear them all day everyday, for occasional shoes it might be too much.

  • My lovely Chromes broke today, the stiff sole has snapped around the cleat. I am awaiting to hear back from my vender about replacement.
