My District-8's are starting to split after 13 months of daily use. I need those Minnas in my life.

My dzr rondels are almost dead after 18 months of everyday use. Sole coming off at the back, stitching falling apart and pretty uncomfortable to walk in. Would buy again though, ace shoes. recommend A+++++

the midnights look and feel really nice, and no poor cows we're destroyed to make them. Only problem seems to be the hard plastic bit in the sole isn't in the same place on both shoes, and on the left one it's a few mm more recessed, making clipping in and out really hard with pedals with cages, a small spacer under the cleat had sort this out though

anyone know what the difference is between DZR Ovis and Strasse model? Both mid top, but er.......other than that? Strasse is £5 more than Ovis (at Always Riding)
-

Ovis is leather, strasse is canvas.

oh, is that it? cheers anyway

just ordered Strasse - would have gone Ovis but out of stock

just ordered the kursks as they're on sale at alwaysriding.
Lots of the reviews seem to suggest buying them a size smaller than normal.. I ended up going for 44 rather than 44.5 as a compromise.
Apparently you get everything you need in the box to return them if necessary, and there's 30 days in which to do so.

I was trying to decide between Kursk and DZR - the DZR won out as I prefer hi top than the black school plimsolls look, but prefer the Kursk's price!

Are any of these compatible with Speedplay Zero's?
-
• #465
doubt it, you're never going to be able to walk in zero cleats unless you put them into some platform boots or something.

Just ridden with my new DZR Strasse - very nice, very comfy, size for me spot on - could do with a lace tuck on the drive side shoe, not as stiff as I thought they might be whilst pedalling but close enough, but certainly comfortable to walk in - as ever this is a compromise between proper cycling shoes and chucks/sneaks. I like 'em though and now will ditch the winter boots as it's virtually Spring is it not? (hope springs eternal)

Aren't you looking a bit odd walking those shoes on the street? Those have stiff bottoms right? In case of me, i have Mavic Rush, they look great and walk great and everybody sees why you're walking strangely, because they still look like cycling shoes (i'm not asshamed ;))

I just got my DZR Ovis shoes in the post and they are absolutely terrible quality - they look like they were finished by blind arthritic monkeys.
The leather is really thin, the soles have no cushioning - simply a thin insole sitting on top of the nylon shank, the finish/stitching is terrible, there is no way to get the rubber cover off without slicing into damaging the sole, and possibly losing a finger in the process.
They are a good concept really badly executed, and easily the worst £95 I have ever spent. They are going straight back. I can't understand how anyone could give these good reviews at that price. They would be alright for £40, but for £95 I would expect a shoe that looks like it would last more than 3 months. I will be making my own out of a pair of old trainers.

anyone know what the sizing is like on the chromes?

anyone know what the sizing is like on the chromes?
Given you would be London-based, Tokyo Fixed sells them apparently
-
• #472
I had to go down a full size on the Chromes and my normal size was far too big. They do have them in Tokyo Fixed and I think Fitzrovia Cycles.

Chrome over DZR everytime.

^ Oh yeah? How come? Reason I ask is that my DZRs are getting a bit tatty after 14 months of riding and I'm considering a new pair of casual SPD shoes...

i'm thinking of ditching my chromes for dzr's
^^^ Yeah mine are super comfy! Although I do have to wear two pairs of socks with them because I can't do them up tightly otherwise, because my feet are really small and narrow, so I could be missing something. But nothing rubs at all, and I've been wearing them at least 4 days a week since the summer.
