They're not toffs, just dorks on Magdalen Meadow. Back in my day they just hit each other with wooden swords. It's always been a dork haunt.
I knew someone once who went to Oxford, they left Leeds with a good strong Yorkshire accent, when I bumped into them a couple of years later they had begun to speak much like that ^^
as far as I'm concerned, that's how they all speaks.

funnily enough I have it on good authority that Robbie Coltrane spoke with a posh home counties English accent before he went to Glasgow School of Art, but emerged with a broad Glaswegian brogue.
