Fucking EXACTLY.

Clearly horatio and I are the only ones that remembered to put our glasses on today.
-
• #179
It's also been discussed in the "cycling on TV" thread.
-
• #180
Are you suggesting he deliberately caused the crash?
No. Truly incredible (ie. weird) question actually.
before you get too pompus there Ashe…
-
• #181
Shitty inferred that there was a malicous intent to cause an accident which would have been shitty
breaking the racing line is foolish and rightly penalised, hardly 'shitty' tho
[which was the point illy was trying to make, I believe]
-
• #182
Me?
Pompous?
WTF? ;) ;) ;)
I prefer, when the moment dictates, to appear imperious.
Pomposity is lower class.
-
• #183
I think it was shitty. It looks to me like he was trying to cut out Haussler's line.
-
• #184
As for illy's question, as to whether I had meant that Cavendish meant to crash, and lose points, and get injured....
Can you blame me for thinking it was an odd question?
-
• #185
was it a shitty sprint? Doesn't Bill work for them
-
• #186
I think Cavendish's competitive spirit is causing him some psychological issues.
What does one do when they feel they should win, but see that that no matter how hard they try, they just might not win?
Get really close and bite your oppenents ear off, of course. Cavendish missed.
-
• #187
Cav rode like a complete twat. He was punished for it.. but not as much as Haussler who loses his chance to win GC or the French bloke with broken wrist.
-
• #188
hippym define what you mean, when you use the word "complete"?
It seems to be that that is what is bothering people today....the meanings of words.
-
• #189
It's a compound word and means "Manx rider who's too hungry for a win after a shitty early season and fucks up other riders in order to try and achieve the win"..

agree with this, but implying he caused the crash to stop haussler is over the top.
it's a red mist moment, not thinking properly and just trying to do anything to win, trying to get a marginal drag by riding too close to hausler.
in his defence though, didnt pettachi say there was a strong cross wind on the finish line?
-
• #191
Strong cross-wind, that affected only one rider.......causing them to drift right across the road?
Yep. I'll buy that one.
-
• #192

He did cause the crash, though? It was his riding that resulted in it. I'm sure he didn't mean to cause a crash, but...

From the "cycling on tv" thread:
i don't have a strong opinion on who was at fault but this composite image seems to suggest on the line issue cav was at fault
-
• #194
Who drew those lines, Mark Cavendish's mum?
-
• #195
looks to me like it was actually GA2Gs fault.
-
• #196
Cavendish is trying a bit harder not to get hit by the laser beam. You've got to give him credit for that.
-
• #197
Couldn't be truer.

Trying to outsprint a laser beam. Yep, I buy one of those as well.
We are talking about the speed of light, are we not? ;)
Yes, yes, I did understand the reference to the other sporting event.

in his defence though, didnt pettachi say there was a strong cross wind on the finish line? He's a professional sprinter. Don't play the heat of the moment card bollocks.
He also was not 'moved' by any cross wind. ffs -
• #200
Couldn't they just look where they were going? 'Kin cyclists.
He broke the rules by breaking his line, cut across some riders, and pulled in way too close to Hausser which resulted in a pretty bad accident.
