In lower class races that's to be expected.
I believe the Cavendish approved term for these is "shitty little races". :-)

Manxman before australian, fact.

"Hmmpf!"I didn't know Prince Harry rode a bike.

I bet Greipel ends up with more wins this season.
It'll be hard for Cavendish to catch up even if he starts winning like last year. Are they sending one each of Cav and Greipel to the Giro/ToC this year?
Greipel fluffed Rund um Köln, his home race, where he was beaten by JJ Haedo, but he has won Vuelta stages. It's true that he's mostly won more minor races and he's clearly not as much of a natural winner (or as charismatic) as Cavendish, but I'm sure he'll win his share of more major races, too, as time goes by. He's only 27.

Some place in GB produced some bloke to help train the future Australian sprint champion, fact.

Nah, by the time he's firing Renshaw will be lead sprinter on a team leaving Griepel to contest some shitty little race minor podium places..

And then get disqualified.
Then I'll issue a public apology via LFGSS, Im very easily influenced by the famous. First I'll start with my lack of form being down to some tooth infection (alcohol poisoning), or something.

Cav has been withdrawn by his team for the rest of the tour.
Harsh?
-
• #163
Yep.. if it's actually for the 'V' and not something else like injury

PR guff. The next two stages are mountain stages and the forecast, for today at least, is rain. Cavendish has no chance of the win and why run the risk of getting a chill from the rain. The team make it look like they are taking decisive action but actually lose nothing from this action and the hand wringers are appeased.
FWIW, I think it was a daft gesture to make but the reaction to it has completely lost a sense of perspective. He stuck two fingers up, he didn't harm anyone.

+1
I suspected there was more to his removal than just the V.

I did wonder this, but I couldn't be arsed to have a look.
Makes perfect sense really.

Tour de Suisse riders delay stage in Cavendish protest
"Bystanders claimed that Cavendish responded to criticism from riders after Tuesday's incident by spitting on the ground on front of them."
Nice.

Are you suggesting he deliberately caused the crash?
-
• #172
ha, that seems like a brilliant idea.

• #173
Are you suggesting he deliberately caused the crash?
No. Truly incredible (ie. weird) question actually.
How would crashing and not winning points have benefitted him?
The crash may, or may not, have been his fault, but it would be odd that he would engineer such a result.

• #174
So what did cavendish do that was shitty? [as per your post]
-
• #175
The tour director's felt that he was to be docked points and penalised for great behaviour.
Shitty was the wrong word to use, I should have said "great".
"Hmmpf!"
