The bars are Profile Design CBT and come with clip-ons, I will fit them for a bit of RP action at the weekend.

Come on, apart from the white rear wheel, it isn't that bad for one of my builds!

this is strange, held together by a thread and an os lock ring

Just put this together today (some parts from my Makino, some part came with the frame), but already happy with the build. Will try new stem/bar combo, new chain (fuck DID) and will change the headset for something more modern...
Had the pleasure of seeing this irl yesterday.
So damn lovely -

Put this together yesterday, still to go 88mm carbon rear 60mm front and syntace p6 seat post to match the stem.

What gear you running round RP?
I am 53/15 on a 3 speed hub and struggle to match my road bike round the park. (Piss on it on the flat liek)
Saying that, 6pt has rinsed the hour on 84", much spin.

• #95519
What effective ratios does the hub give you? I'd also go for mid 80s if I were to do it fixed.
-
• #95520
I see the main problem is not fine tuning to ascent. (Which makes fixed all the more impressive)
There is mechanical loss, but also you cannot really shred the 2nd and 3rd gears (out of saddle) as drive pin has a habit of jumping out under rad torque. 1st is direct of course, so you can spank that all the way home.
65%, 75% and 100% (59.6. 71.6, 95.4 GI)
Christ knows how one goes up Sawyers on 84" !? Out of the saddle screaming I presume.

It's always surprising what you can get up in big gears when you have no choice.

I'm currently on 47x17 so that's 73GI.
I went around RP last night and did one lap to test the set up and make sure it wasn't falling apart.
Did sub 19:30 for the lap which isn't bad as it was very spinny downhill (read as I had to slow down downhill while roadies were zooming past at 60+kph).

The ideal RP gear is 48x17 (700c x 23)

My fastest time round was on 48/17 when I was used to riding 48/19 on the road.
HED3 back on and home made valve sticker in carbon sticker for more aeroness...
